Eating cheap at Disneyland

Market House is on Main Street, on the right side as you are walking from the entrance to the castle. About midway down.

A great cup of coffee is difficult to find at DL so I usually just stick to the Market House for the free refills. The Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel offers esspresso and lattes but I haven't tried the coffee there.

I like to stop there and listen to the party line phones near the North exit. At least one of them is kept working. These aren't used heavily so they tend to last awhile. With all the changes and deletions that occur every year I'm amazed that they keep these working.

If you're looking for it on the map it won't show up because it counts as a retail shop and not a restaurant. Most people pass right through and don't even notice the freshly brewed coffee.

You can get espresso drinks at Blue Ribbon Bakery as well as some incredible cookies though if you loves your coffee like I loves my coffee the Market House is great. My wife prefers the foo foo coffee drinks so we stick to Blue Ribbon.

Got2travel - where is the Market House where you get your coffee, and then free refills throughout the day??? Is it on Main Street?

Market House is on the right side of the street as you walk down MS towards the castle. So when you first walk down Main Street, it's on the right. I heard that they do coffee/hot chocolate, that I can drink.....does anyone know if this is true?

The mango slices are usually pretty good!! We don't squeeze the lime over them, we just eat the mango. We have had some that aren't great though, sometimes they aren't completely ripe when they slice them.

To the OP, my best suggestion is to take your own water bottles, we use Aqua Clips to carry ours around, I love those things!! I just refill my bottles at various restaurants, usually Rancho Del Zocalo because they have a water dispenser outside and it's easy to use. :) I also love PP's pasta, they are huge and so yummy!!

Where did you get your Aqua Clip? Thanks!

I heard about them here but the link provided didn't work, so I just googled Aqua Clip and it was the first hit. They work GREAT!!!!! I love them!

Not sure what you mean by "coffee/hot chocolate, that I can drink" but yes they do have hot chocolate and real brewed coffee, not that instant Nescafe stuff.

Sorry, we seem to have derailed the orinigal question with all our talk of coffe and water.

So....thought of another inexpensive meal at DL....Bengal Barbecue. I love the skewers there. My favorite is the bacon wrapped asparagus. Even my son, who has an aversion to any green vegetable, will eat these.

Where do you find this?

The Limeaid is available at the fruit stands, it sits in a giant tub of ice, alongside the mentioned juice boxes, sodas and water bottles. In CA we get it at the stand next to PT Flea (pin trader haven, I love that little shop) and in DL we've found it on Main Street, over by Splash, at a stand in Tomorrowland and a couple other places too.

Actually I heard they will mix it together, like half hot chocolate and half coffee. What I meant was I am not a fan of coffee, but when it's mixed I like that flavor and will drink it. :rotfl:

I haven't done those asparagus skewers yet.......I really want to though.

I would not recommend bringing a bucket of KFC into the park. Some people on these boards would be really sore with you for doing so.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Sorry, but that was funny!

did i miss something??? who said anything about bringing KFC in the park and why would people be mad if she did???

haha...i noticed the love of coffee right away! i can only handle one cup a day. maybe two on disneyland days though.

Have fun in the parks!!

lord I cant make it out of the room unless Ive had either a strong cup of coffee or starbucks iced coffee in the can plus a coke...I have to bring my own coffee filter because coffee is so weak there...

For water, I bring in my own bottle, once it's empty I refill at the First Aid Station. They have a water fountain that is cold and filtered. Tastes better than the water you can refill with at the restaurants.

Ive known about the water fountain at the FAS for years but when I need the water Im not usually anywhere around there so Im not going all the way back over there just to get water kwim?

Oh, remember that there are many carts with fresh fruit. They are expensive little bits of fruit, but it's good to remember that a cookie is about the same cost as a, say, spear of pineapple. Some have even mentioned a little box with mango and lime, which sounds odd but very good.

your 100% on the money with that one...Im totally not into fruit at all but I love buying grapes from the carts and pineapple spears...for one they are always the best quality and 2nd they are cold yum!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? coffee from MH???? thats coffee flavored water ...and I totally disagree with not being able to find good coffee there...CS? your right there is nothing...but the on property hotel restaurants, coffee shop at DLH, sit down restaurants in DL compass book store all have really good coffee...

another thought on cool drinks...I absolutely :lovestruc the frozen lemonade slushee...not the one at the ice cream carts you eat with a spoon but the slushee ones...they have one over near the smoking area by matterhorn and also by golden dreams...you can get a flavor splash of cherry and the one by matterhorn has different flavors like watermelon...that drink cools me off in no time...

the bucket of KFC was something mentioned in a pervious thread (that got locked.)

I have gotten the hot chocolate / coffee combo at:
Market house
Blue Ribbon Bakery
The little coffee kiosk right the hub of the park
all you have to do is ask. I have never had a problem.
I like the coffee the best at the Market house. I think it tastes the best.

I think maybe the best bargain for food in the park is maybe the bread bowls. They have chili or clam chowder. You can get them in NOS. SUper filling.

I love the take out window at Tortilla Joes in DTD. For $5 you can get a big taco or burritto or quesidilla. Their salsa is GOOD. The same as their sit down restaurant -but waaay cheaper.

I have heard that this is a good place to eat. I will have to try it on my next trip. That will be in April:dance3:
