Eating before MNSSHP & Costumes??

Ok, Tell me if this is a good idea??? We have 11 of us going to the Halloween party at MK on Halloween night. I made a PS for all of us at Ohana for 5:20. Thought this would be good so we would not have to rush and fight the crowds from the ASM. This way we can eat and jump on the Monorail and be there. Some of the people in our group are questioning eating and having to wear the costumes to dinner??? I don't think it is a big deal. Won't most people that eat and are going to the party be in costumes. Ecspecially since it is Halloween night! I know a lot of people plan to eat at MK or close by before the parties?? I am excited....

I am also trying to decide if I want to be Belle!! I have my old prom dress that is gold and would be perfect. I just don't know if I want to walk around in that big dress all evening??? Might be kind of fun to be a pretend Princess for a night???? My DD would love it!

We were staying at AKL last October and the night we went to MNSSHP (20th) we saw plenty of people dressed up around the resort, both in and out of Boma and Jiko restaurants.

The other guests loved speaking with my DH and DD since they were dressed up - it made everyone smile.

I think most people are aware of MNSSHP, especially if you are going on Halloween night. Enjoy the whole occasion

It will be no problem at all especially on Halloween night! I mean grown people walk around WDW in the middle of summer with Mickey ears on ,right??!?

WDW is the place where being a little silly and acting like a kid again is a-okay anytime of the year!! Just make sure, your royal highness ,that you wear comfortable shoes!!!

Last October we did the exact same thing. We (4 of us) were going to MNSSHP and had PS @ O'Hanna. We got into our costumes, got on a bus from ASM to Epcot from Epcot we got on the Monarail to ride over to the Restaurant. The response, looks and even applause from people looking at us was UNBELIEVABLE. We felt like we were starts that night!!! After dinner we just hopped back on the monarail to the MK for the party. We worked LONG AND HARD on our costumes and enjoyed every minute of showing them off. We had over 40 strangers come up to us at the party that night and ask us for pictures. Even the cast members swarmed us and wished that they were giving out prizes, cause we would have won!!

Dress Up and enjoy it - you'll never forget the great time your going to have!!!!!!!!!

That is exactly how I feel!! So my Family will be dressed up!!! I am probably going to be Belle and don't worry I will wear comfy shoes!!! Jo Jo is going to be Sally from Nightmare before Christmas and my Boyfriend is going to be a pirate! I can not wait! After all like you all said.........It is Disney World!

We will see what the rest of our group does???? I know the kids will be in costume...

Sounds like you all had the same plan as us. I love Ohana and I want everyone else to try it. My favorite place to eat at Disney. So you had no problem getting to the party from Ohana.

What did you go as? I wish I could see pictures.
I'm still in the planning stages for my costume for the MNSSHP. I need something that travels well in a tiny carry-on.

Our only problem with our costumes on during dinner is not getting them dirty and being VERY hot!! my DH was the Beast and luckily he had a tshirt and pants underneath so he took the costume off during dinner as he was sweating bullets!

We're trying Ohanas for the first time on the first night of our vacation in October! Its been getting some really good reviews lately!

We'll be going to MNSSHP on Oct 14 - can't wait! Still trying to decide if I will dress up - my DD will definitely be dressed up; either as Tinerbell or one of the princesses! We have a PS at LTT that night!

Babyjosie98 - Be sure to allow some extra time to get to the Party, if you want to be there right when it starts. In Dec, 2000, we were attending the MVMCP and we had a late lunch, then went shopping at the monorail hotels. When we went to get on the monorail at the GF, the monorail was PACKED!!! We barely squeezed on! (There were only 4 in our party, and we had to get in different cars of the monorail.)

We had NO problem at all going from dinner to MK - just hop back on the monarail and it'll take you to the park.

I hope this picture shows up. As you can see we were dressed up as the four parks. I was Animal Kingdom - with the Tree of Life on my head. My sister was Epcot, her son was MGM, and my 11 yr old daughter was Magic Kingdom. Each head dress had it's own suitcase for the flight down and our shirts were images that we scanned and printed on iron-able images, we cut them and then ironed them onto the shirts. The coolest thing was that each park that we represented were our own personal favorites. My father built the castle our of jewelry boxes, the epcot ball was a kids play ball covered in silver fabric. My nephew lucked out being MGM - he got the easiest costume, but he's 15 and couldn't push him to hard!! My Tree was about 18" tall with animal stickers on the base. Also as you can see the "Head Dress" were high and we had to have really good balance to walk around in them, and we kept them on ALL NIGHT. You should have seen us having to duck when starting out on It's A Small World Ride, so that our head dressed wouldn't hit it top of the entry to the ride.

We went last year, and I think we ate first at DTD (my friend works there), then got changed in the bathroom and went to MK.

No wait, we ate at Ray's in Tomorrowland, b/c someone came up to me and asked about our mousekateer shirts (we bought them at the DS where we worked back in 1999). I wore a poodle skirt and got these trick or treat bags at Taget that looked like bowling balls.

We'll be there on Halloween again, so we'll look for you, BABYJOSIE98, in your prom dress! I am not sure what we are going as: maybe pirate chicks, good angel/bad angel, or ???

That is my other option......A Wench??? Or as you say Pirate chick.
My Boyfriend is going to be a pirate, But my Gold Prom dress would work perfect as Belle?? Oh well I got time.
