My family is going to WDW in June, and I have planned PS's for many dinners, but I have a question for our last night. I would love to go over to the GF and check out the resort as well as have dinner. I made reservations at Narcoossee's, but I'm not sure as my family tends not to be seafood people or very adventurous eaters. What are people's favorite restaurants at the GF aside from Victoria and Alberts, which isn't in our price range?

I would check out The Grand Floridian Cafe. I haven't tried it yet but, in my opinion, the menu looks good. I think we may go on our next trip:woohoo:

We have eaten at Narcoosees in 2003 and 2005 - both times we had a great experience - in 2005 we stayed at GF and had breakfast at the GF Cafe and it was very special , the menu, setting, quality and service was terrific and as good as anything we had experienced anywhere.

We will be there in July and I think the character breakfast will be in the GF Cafe temporarily while 1900 Park Fare is being refurbished and normal breakfasts are being served in Citricos - we haven't eaten in Citricos but have heard and read great things.

The Grand Floridian Cafe is very good. In February we ate there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both were so good. I had a special for dinner that was mahi mahi and I practically licked the plate. They also have mini desserts that are yummy!!! We did the afternoon tea at the resort also and it was wonderful. :)

The GFC has a large variety of things on their menu. Don't discount Narcoosee's though. We ate there in February for the first time and LOVED it. Although there is alot of seafood on the menu, I got the risotto and thought it was great. My children also ordered non-seafood items and all were very tasty.

Hope that helps!

we ate at both narcoosees and GFC in september

loved narcoosees - crab cakes, lobster, almond cheesecake - went twice that week, going back again this coming october!

had dinner at GFC - very good prime rib, crab cakes, dessert sampler - DH had the steak and shrimp (said shrimp were a little "dry") - still, lovely restaurant, great service - we'd eat here again

OK, the GF is my favorite place in the world!!(notice the username?). My husband and I went in 2006 during our last trip to Narcooses for our date night (my parents watched the kids). We were staying at the resort. We both LOVE seafood (we are from New England) and it is great there, but that night I did not want seafood. I had a delicious chicken with sweet potatoes and apples. It was SO good!! So there are other options, even if you don't like seafood. The view is wonderful and if you have a ressie around 8PM you will see the water parade that goes by around 9PM right past the windows of the restaurant.

I will also say that the GF cafe is good as well, but the view is not the same.

Good luck!!

Thanks everyone, I think I'll keep Narcoossee's and plead ignorance if people complain about the menu. ;) I think it sounds great.
