I will be arriving on 12/29 and leaving 1/2. I have most of my reservations made but I want to eat somewhere special on my birthday 12/30. It will be just me, (and ressies are impossible at this point) so I thought it would be easier if I tried to eat someplace that has a bar to eat at. Any suggestions? It can be anywhere in the world.

Mizner's at the Grand Floridian will allow you to order items from Citricos' menu. The Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge will let you do the same from Artist Point (and it's got a marvelous pulled pork wraps from the bar menu).

I know that Flying Fish and JIKO both have bars where you can eat. California Grill does too but it's usually full of people who are waiting for their tables and may be harder to get seated there.

We've done the bar at FF and had a wonderful meal. As Pakey says the bar at CG is usually filled with patrons waiting for the fireworks. Citrico's itself has a bar but I am not certain if you can get a full meal there.
Should add that Blue Zoo and Il MUlino both have nice bar areas and I'd be willing to bet you can get a full meal at either one.
And if memory serves, didn't I read a review awhile ago from someone who ate at the bar in Narcoossee's???

FF, Jiko serve at the bar...either is excellent.

You could probably get a table at IL Mulino or Blue Zoo if you wanted.
Blue Zoo has an app menu at the bar...never asked if they serve full meal out there when we were there a month ago.

When I was solo, I ate at the bar at Yak and Yeti.

You can now order at the bar from the full menu at Prime Time at the Studios.
Did it last month, usually if you are solo it is not to hard to find a seat at the bar at anytime. It is no quite though with everyone waiting for there ADR's.

I believe you can eat at the Raglan Road bar at DTD. Have a Happy Birthday!

Flying Fish...both my DH & I have had dinner at the bar while traveling alone for business...good food & service. It is still dining even though your at the bar. You may even be able to eat at the chef's counter there or at Jiko's.

Happy Birthday!

DW and I ate at the bar at Narcoossee's. :thumbsup2

Last February we had ADRs at Raglan Road. We got there early and decided to have a pint or two at the bar. The bartender, Angel, was so good we just decided to stay there and so we ended up eating at the bar. It was very good.

Should add to the spirit of this thread that now we ALWAYS eat at the bar at every restaurant where a full meal is possible. For one thing we're away from the screaming, chair kicking , food throwing kids. For another, your server is always right there and service is always quick--as are the drinks!!

You can order a limited selection from the Yachtsman Steakhouse menu at the bar at the Crew's Cup Lounge. I also think that there is a bar like area at Jiko's where you can see them prepare apps.

Do they have a full menu at Jiko's bar, and can you just walk in?
