Hi! I'm just wondering how possible it is to eat at SciFi with a 2 yr. old? Is there room on the seats for 3 in a seat? I really don't want to sit at one of the tables, I would prefer the car. If you have survived this restaurant with a little one, I would love to hear your comments! ;)

There is room for two regular sized adults and a 2-year-old.

We survived the meal, but I spent much of the time at the bench by the bathrooms......Our two-year-old enjoyed the meal for about 10 minutes and was then ready to go again. We won't do it again with one that age, but our rugrat was really restless at all meals except the character meals. Hopefully you'll have better luck!

This is our DD's favorite place. She has loved it since she was 3. We do split up and one sits with her and the other right behind, it's lots of fun and she LOVES eating in the car. Enjoy.

As long as your two year old is not really scared of the dark you should'nt have a problem eating there.

I've eaten here with my parents, niece(3 yo), and brother. My niece, mother and myself sat in the front and had enough room to be comfortable.

My niece ended up taken a nap in Sci-Fi probably beacuse it was darker inside. It's a really nice atmosphere to eat in, also. You will have a great time.

We tried this at two and at three years old with my DD and she was scared both times. The cars were great but the monsters and the dark scared her. Be prepared.

The seats at the SCi Fi in a car are kind of medium size. You could fit 2 adults in the seats but not three. Putting an infant between you would be fine too. It may be a little bit tight. I think personally it would fit fine and not be uncomfortable. enjoy your vacation and your SCI Fi dinner will surely be a blast. I have done the dinner many of times with my dd and we have loved it everytime.

We went when dd was 2 1/2. We had no problems with her, but she had big brother to keep her entertained too. I don't think they even noticed the movies, they were too busy pretending to drive!:D

We didn't have a great experience with my 2 1/2 yr old. We did go late, like 2pm for lunch, which was part of the problem. He was restless and kept grabbing the ketchup, mustard, etc, there was hardly anywhere to move it to that was out of reach. Then, he actually tried climbing over the seat into the backseat, thankfully it was empty! My MIL just got up and took him outside while I finished my meal. It was a bit aggravating, and he is usually very good to eat out with. There was room to sit, but try to avoid the obvious pitfalls as you would when you usually plan on eating out. The atmosphere at the restaurant was really neat and the food very good (I had BBQ chicken sandwich and MIL had cheeseburger, with yummy crinkle fries)

Have a great vacation!

I think you'll be fine in the car. Make sure when you check-in to request a front seat so everyone can see the movie screen. Also, what we found handy taking my nephews to WDW at that age was to bring some of their favorite toys to play with while waiting. This helped a great deal waiting for a parade or meal. :smooth:

Thanks for all of the comments! I had been trying to decide between SciFi (which I'm not crazy over their food, but the entertainment would be interesting...), or Mama Melrose (something new, but nothing interesting for our 2 yr old...).

Thanks again!:)

My 2 year old twins love Sci fi. They sit on the bench on the inside of the car. Ok... So..... really they stand. If your little one is normaly restless don't bother with the booster, It will only end up on the floor about a 100 times. My guys love it its a nice cool distraction. They have been at 1 year, that time we used hi-chairs. 18 mts and 2 just threw them on the bench and rode it out. we are going back and doing Sci fi again, Try it I think you will be just fine..Lauren

Thanks for taking the time to post your experience! I think we may give it a whirl! (now if I can just get ps's for our entire party...we will have 2 other families with us! ;) )
