I heard that if you are eating at Ohana's during Wishes the restaurant pumps in the music, and you can watch from your table. Is this true? And has anyone done this, it sounds fun. :wizard:

I haven't done it but I literally just read about it in the Unofficial Guide. They said to make an ADR for around 7.30 to have the best chance of seeing it. I just made one for 8.20, thinking that Wishes may happen later in summer because of the late sunset. Hope we get to experience it! :)

during our stay in January. We got our reservation a skosh earlier than the UOG recommended at the suggestion of the ADR CM. We got a absolutely beautiful window seating. Unfortunately, we ate much too fast. :rolleyes1 We tried to stretch things out by having some post-prandial adult beverages but then it started looking like we might just go sleepy-time right at the table. :rolleyes1
Anyway, we ended up going out and watching from the beach. It was fine.

Good luck and if anything, try to schedule yourself a little later rather than earlier.

We did this last year and are going again in May. We thought it was absolutely wonderful! We had ADR's at 8:10 and it worked out perfectly. This year I couldn't get ADR until 8:40 but I think WISHES begins at 10 so it should be fine.

We had an 8pm ADR and Wishes were at 9pm. Well, it ended up being the MNSSHP Halloween fireworks preview, which was fine. Just as we were ready for dessert, the lights were dimmed and music began to play. I think this is the perfect time, as you can wait for a good table if you arrive a bit early. Most of the tables in the main dining room have a decent view of Wishes. This time in August, I hope to see the actual Wishes from Ohana's

We did this last year. I made ADR's for 6:30 but we ended up waiting so long that Wishes was beginning as we sat down. We had a seat at the window and it was amazing! Felt like we got a little pixie dust since we waited so long.

I have eaten during Wishes x2. Make sure to check in early for your ADR and tell them you are willing to wait for a window seat or the next row of tables next to the window seats. They also dim the lights some inside which is really awesome. Last year I was fortunate enough to catch the Hallowishes testing show from inside.

Aristomommy-we must have been there at the same time if you were there last year on Sept 27th!!!

we had a window seat and it was beautiful. The music was played a little too low (the restaurant is quite loud in my opinion), but it was still a wonderful memory

I've done it and will be doing it again. I didn't have a window table, but I could see fine (I was in the room behind the fire pit). The music was piped in softly, but since Wishes didnt start until 10pm, the restaurant had quieted down significantly so I could hear it fine.

Thanks for the tip Scoutsmom. We visited Ohanas for the first time last year but were seated too far away from the window to enjoy the fireworks. It was so frustrating to have a meal in front of us while the show was going on, and so obviously being enjoyed by the other diners, yet we couldn't see a thing. The upside was that the food was voted the best of our trip by the rest of the family. :thumbsup2

Love your pic of Scout by the way. I must add to my signature one of our black lab, Lucy - never seen without a large boot in her mouth (except when she's eating - I guess you know how important that pastime is to a labrador ;) :teeth: ).

Thanks for the compliment! I would love to see the pic of your Lucy.

We have a 7:40 pm ADR on 5/3/06 at 'Ohana. When making the reservation, I had no idea about viewing Wishes at 'Ohana, but the awesome Dining Reservations Cast Member told me about it and recommended I make the ressie at 7:40 pm. I'm so glad I listened to the CM as Wishes @ 'Ohana sounds like such a fun experience! Can't wait to write a review!
