Thanks!!! That looks great. We'll be in a studio (this is a solo trip with me and the kids) so I'm very glad to see the breakfast/lunch options and food offered at the beach house.

This is our first trip to HHI and it looks like we'll be there about the same time. We are arriving on Tuesday 4/3. We are going to the final four in Atlanta on the way. Have a great trip. From what I have read you can also walk over to Shelter Cove for some other options.

the main pool is called tide me over and they close around 5 or 6 pm.
the beach house is called signals and they are only open around 11am to around 4pm.


both places have been known to clean up and close early in the past if it is not real busy.

Just a heads up from our past experiences (last April and then May 03) Tide Me Over takes FOREVER to get your food. We have seriously been joking that we should call in our order now and we have a decent shot of it being ready before we check out 4/6. If it is a crowded day at the pool at lunchtime, it can easily take minimum 30 minutes to get an order of chicken fingers.

You can also get your cup of coffee in the main lobby. There is usually a large urn there early in the morning. (Not to mention the lemonade and cookies in the afternoon!)

Everything sounds so great. I am very excited now because this weekend was HOT HOT HOT - it felt like June in Atlanta. I was expecting coolish spring weather, but I'm thinking there's a chance it might actually feel like summer at HHI.

Have a nice getaway Starbox. Here in VA we thought we were getting off easy with the winter in Dec/Jan (top 5 warmest), but Feb/Mar (top 5 coldest) has put us back into hibernation.

We've gotta move south.

The food right there on property is really not that great IMO. It's okay counter service food, but that is about it. You really need to venture off-property to get good food. Within walking distance are several good restaurants. We especially like the Mexican restaurant. The best thing to do is to look at the menus in the book they give you when you check in.

I'll second this - during our August '04 stay we quickly got into the habit of only eating there very early or during off times; then, the waits on orders dropped to maybe 15 minutes vs. the normal 25-30 during busy times. The issue is their capacity, the kitchen and staffing (usually 3 CMs at most) are just too small to handle the demand they get.
