If staying at BC & you want to eat at one of the countries 1 st night . Do you have to buy a Ticket for Epcot or can we just walk to & thru The Gateway ... For Example eat at MEXICAN Restaurant??

If you want to eat inside a park, you must have a park ticket. There are some lovely restaurants around the Boardwalk that would not require a park ticket.

There's lots of choices at Yacht or Beach Club or Boardwalk or Swan and Dolphin that don't require spending money on an unnecessary park ticket. Most of the cuisine within ECPOT can be found at an outside restaurant, maybe not the exact same dish but same country would be possible.

You could also go over to Disney Springs. There are a lot of restaurants there. Basically, if the restaurant is in a park you need a park ticket. So if you don't have park hopper tickets, you can't go to MK in the morning and then go to Epcot to eat since your ticket limits you to one park per day. The park hopper would allow multiple parks in the same day.

As others have said, if it's in a park, you need a ticket. If you have a ticket of 5 days or longer, it doesn't cost much to add a day to have dinner in EP. If that won't work for you, as others have said, there are great restaurants in the EP resort area and entertainment at the Boardwalk at night that doesn't cost extra.
