2 days at Epcot in Feb. coming up.....would like to stay in the park to eat. What places are good to eat at w/ 8yo?? :confused3 Any inputs on the Coral Reef or Garden Grill or Le Cellier?? I doubt the countries in WS are going to go over real well w/ DS....so, looking for some input/suggestions! :thanks:

Biergarten in Germany is lots of fun, especially if he likes music. My kids loved it there when they were that age. Other than that, Garden Grill for characters or Coral Reef for atmosphere.

DD & DS love LeCellier, DS has proclaimed having the best meal ever there. But we are considering Coral Reef & Italy next trip. Also consider doing some CS in the WS, it's great way to get the kids to try things.

I can definately let you know that Le Cellier has hotdogs on the menu for kids, so that's pretty safe. Check out allears.net for the menus and you can get an idea what's on each menu for kids.

My boys (4 & 6) do just fine at Le Cellier. In December we will be trying Coral Reef and Alfredo's as well as dining at Le Cellier again.

Are you looking more for food or atmosphere to appeal to him? Take a look at the menus at www.allearsnet.com to give yourself an idea of what the kids menus at each place are. My kids are fairly picky eaters and can find something to eat at every restaurant!

Go to Coral Reef! When else will you be able to eat surrounded by an aquarium? It's an 8 year old's dream. My mahi-mahi was excellent.

My niece (14) and nephew (11) love Rose & Crown. We've been going there every trip and try to plan the reservation around Illuminations. Even if you can't get a seat on the patio all the kids gather out there when the show starts. When my niece was 4 we went there quite late. She and another little boy in the booth next to us fell asleep before dinner came. They took the meals off the bills and gave us their dessert to go!

San Angel Inn (Mexico) I think would be a fun atmosphere for kids as well as Teppanyaki (Japan).

Well, since you can get food anywhere.....I try for the atmosphere when we go away..... We ate at Sci-Fi last summer, and when we rounded the corner to sit down, DS gasped and went "cool...." a moment I will never forget....... so, I'm sure most places have "kid-friendly" menu picks....I have been to allearsnet many times (I actually updated Confisco's menu at Universal this summer!) so, I was trying to get a feel of more atmosphere.....so, I do appreciate y'all's input and advice......keep 'em comin'!

My son is 15 now and pretty much could care less where he eats. The one restaurant that he asks for year after year is Coral Reef. I will never forget his little mesmerized face the first time we went, and it has been his favorite ever since. If you are looking for that "LOOK" give it a try! We have also had great luck with food and service there.

Since it is atmosphere for an 8yr old boy you are looking for - go with Coral Reef :fish:

I liked Garden Grill a lot. If my wife allowed it, my top preferences would be for Akershus and Biergarten.

We ate at Chefs de France and San Angel Inn a few weeks ago with my dd (6) and my dn (5). Chefs was a snooze to them (though they behaved just fine) but they really enjoyed San Angel Inn. We were right by the balcony overlooking the ride in the Mexico pavillion and they had a ball eating chips and salsa and watching the boats go by.

My DD's 10 & 7 love the Coral Reef. The aquarium is so neat and seeing the diver's is also another cool aspect. One day we spent the lunch time walking around WS and we each ordered from a different CS and shared what we had. That was alot of fun (did take a lot of time though).

We brought kids (4,8,15) to WDW last year and in Epcot, we ate at China and Canada. They all found a meal they liked and ate well. LeCellier would be a good choice because it's not the typical...chicken nuggets, burger etc. that you find at many of the other restaurants. My grandson (the 4 year old) ate the child's steak and it wasn't what I expected for a child's meal... It was a beautiful lean , tender piece of steak. And LeCellier "chocolate moose" is a great, fun dessert for kids. I was surprised on that also that it wasn't just chocolate pudding in the shape of a moose, it's really chocolate mousse!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Garden Grill (as long as you like the look of the menu). The food was really tasty. The character interaction was fantastic and the revolving restaurant gives it another interesting slant.
