If we would eat at Boma for dinner, would we be able to see any animals? We've never been to this resort before so wasn't sure if we walked around a bit if there was a chance to peek out back.

Yes. You go out the back of the lobby area and there's a view of the Animals. Sometimes, the animals are very active. Others not. Sometimes there is a CM out there, other times no.

We went to AKL right after AK closed for the day. We had a 6:30 dinner reservation but got there about an early. It was feeding time for the giraffes, and OMG it was awesome! They came RIGHT up to the area we were at and we watched the Mama Giraffe help her baby (about 9 months old) get the food. It was so sweet.

The only problem was that the kids LOVED it and are insisting they want to stay at AKL on our next trip! :lmao:

By the way, I know boma gets mixed reviews, but we love it! Even the kids really like it!

We loved it too, and we loved getting to AKL an hour early to look at the animals out back. It was feeding time for something less interesting than giraffes when we were there, but it was still a nice experience.

And there is plenty for everyone at the buffet, I think, from the most timid to the more adventurous eaters. Not only that, but there are lots of choices even for kids with multiple allergies (or at least for the allergies we had to deal with). The chef came out and walked us through the whole buffet line to show us what was and wasn't safe; in our case about 90% of the items were nut-free, seed-free, and peanut-free.

Yes, most definitely you can. There are night vision goggles to see in the dark. We have not tried them though, so I don't know exactly what you would be seeing. There are also many viewing spots throughout the resort to see the animals. FYI...you will get hooked though. We love the lodge and Boma's, the animals are great etc. I do prefer the late afternoon though, the animals normally get fed somewhere around 5pm. (Or did in Dec when we stayed there)

Good Luck!

Yes. We ate there last year for a buffet dinner at Boma... it was dusk and getting dark by the time we were done, .. but we were able to watch the animals at an observation area with night vision goggles. It was pretty cool and the guides were great!
