Eating Around The World

Ok so I know my trip isn't until 2017, but I am questioning if anyone has ever done this at world show case. Also we will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan and I originally wanted to eat lunch at Via Napoli bc everyone say's their pizza is awesome. But now I am rethinking that and wondering if we should forgo the dining credit and just "eat around the world", but I am trying to figure out if most of the stuff would be included as a snack. We usually have atleast 16-20 snacks left over and just buy snacks before we leave. But if we can "eat around the world" and use snack credits that sounds good to me, lol. My other question is the italy pavilion do they have an quick service places that we can just grab like a slice of pizza or something as our eat around the world dish lol. Or better yet can we just order a slice of pizza from Via Napoli instead of a whole pie? I want my kids to open up a little and try some new and different stuff this time around so I hope my plan doesn't seem crazy, LOL

Unless you can time your stay to either Food & Wine in the fall or the Flower & Garden in the spring (assuming they do the food kiosks for this one again), you won't find much to fill your tummies with snack credits. Snack credit items are mainly on the sweet side or drinks. There just aren't that many savory type things out there.

You can't get a slice of pizza for a snack credit anywhere on property that I know of.

It would take more time out of your day, but with the DxDDP, you could do both lunch and dinner TS on your EP day, but don't order a meal for everyone. Order enough to share, so you get a good sampling, but don't fill up so much that you're not hungry for dinner. You won't be able to do that at Via Napoli as they will not let you share one person's credit with two people, but you could do it at the other places.

We tried to "eat around the world" on our last trip and didn't succeed as much as I had hoped... But we are trying again next time. Part of our problem was having to wait in a new line for every snack so next time we will start earlier to avoid lines at the front end and not start off already hungry and needing food faster. As far as snack credits, I found it was mixed and matched... Several options on snack credits but also some not (in MK a funnel cake was a SC but in America Pav. it wasn't)... France had a plethora of options! I don't think there is a pizza option in Italy though. I did a "world showcase bucket list" with one snack & one activity from every country for my kids to check off for our next visit! Good luck

You can only use snack credits at the counter service and snack locations to do a "eat around the world" meal, but the challenge will be finding enough protein/entree items that qualify with a snack credit. If you look on allears it puts the snack credit logo next to the items that qualify.

It looks like you will be going during Flower & Garden festival so you will be able to use your snack credits at the food kiosks where you will find some entree choices, but they will be sampler sized (just a few bites). Also if you opt to use one of your dining credits at a kiosk you will have to choose all 3 items from the same kiosk and it will not be a good use of the DxDDP dining credit.

You cannot purchase just a slice of pizza at VN because it is a TS which only offers whole pizzas. Sometimes there is a pizza window open adjacent to VN, but it is the generic Disney pizza and NOT the thin crust wood fired pizza served at VN.

Thanks for all the info! Very helpful! I have planned for breakfast at garden grill for a pre park opening ADR and then I have us to eat dinner at Biergarten. I was planning on small items/side items at either kiosks or quick service but maybe we will still go to via Napoli for pizza and just pay OOP and split a pizza, then that frees up an extra dining credit. We were planning to eat at like an ihop or something on departure day for breakfast but if we pay OOP for via Napoli we could split the pizza, free up a dining credit so we could eat breakfast at 1 of the resorts on departure day and still attempt to eat around the world lol

We have done this successfully! We don't drink, but love Epcot. A few places were limited and didn't have much we wanted, but we were able to find something that worked. We like to eat though, and it all adds up quickly- at food and wine festival we earned every stamp in 3 days.
Mexico- nachos
Norway-school bread
China- spring rolls/egg rolls
Germany- caramel popcorn
Italy- gelato
US- turkey leg
Japan- tempura
Morocco- baklava and mint tea
France- pastries from the bakery (they also have amazing ice cream!)
UK- chips from fish and chips stand)
Canada- Maple sugar candy (gift shop)
(all of these were shared- not just all eaten by one person!)

So it's definitely possible and delicious! It just takes some planning and it took us the whole day, so we could also spend time in the countries and not be too stuffed.

We've done it a number of times. We get a couple of things at each stand and share. In Italy we had a cheese plate at the wine bar, it's o.k. for kids and they have a pretty good appy menu. We weren't on the dining plan so I can't speak to snack credits. Some of the goodness you can get: Nachos at Mexico, spring rolls at China, a sandwich at Norway (technically this isn't a snack but it is sharable) big pretzel in Germany, cheese plate at Italy, my son gets sushi in Japan - I don't eat it so I get edamame, Morocco is a problem for snacks so we did cheat and get a couple of small plates at Spice Roads, loads of things in the QS place at France some of it is snack we get an ice cream cone, we share a plate of fish and chips in England QS not snack, Canada is a problem but you can get popcorn, we opt for a beer. We may have also been known to drink around the world and we have also done wine tastings in Germany, Italy,France and Japan. And don't even get me started on the tequila bar inside Mexico.

Wow sounds great! Yeah I have looked at menus and stuff and it all looks so amazing, lol...some of the places I know we can share stuff...we are a family of 4 so like at the funnel cake place in American we can get 2 different funnels and just share them. Same with popcorn from Canada...As for China I think we are going to try the Tea place instead of eating bc my kids love slushies and the strawberry slushie thing sounds right up their ally. As for Italy we are still going to get an ADR for Via Napoli and just split a pizza bc my kids love pizza and the rest of the stuff I am thinking about getting will be little stuff that we can all share just for like a sampling. My hubby is excited that I decided to try this bc he loves trying new and different food that we never get to try at home, lol

First, how many nights are you staying? Remember, the dining credits are per night, not the number of days on your park tickets. Depending on how early or late your arrivals or departures are, there's a very good chance you'll have more than one meal time open to eat around the world. (unless you don't eat at many signatures)

We're doing the DxDP on our next trip (and also did it last year). For our 5 day/ 4 night stay, we book 4 signatures and 4 1-credit restaurants. This year, it turned out that we have two empty lunchtimes (most of our breakfasts are very small because of all the food we get for lunch and dinner). I scheduled one empty lunch just to snack around Epcot.

With the two snack credits per day, I just eat around (we'll be at F&G), and my mother gets pastries to take home. (Last year, she got two almond pretzels from the Norway Pavilion, froze them, and said they were delicious when she reheated them a month later!)

We save Chef Mickeys for our last breakfast before leaving... It is a great way to cap on a trip!

We always eat at Chef Mickeys but on our next trip we decided to skip it and try some other character breakfasts like Cape May and Tusker House that have Mickey and friends. We are also going to do the new seasonal dining with Minnie at Hollywood & Vine, so I think that will be enough Mickey and friends dinings, LOL. We decided to try Boma on our departure day bc its no rush that morning and then it will give us some time to walk around and look at the Animals and stuff

We are planning on stayin 9 nights and 10 days, but I am planning on paying OOP for Via Napoli so we can split a pizza, and we usually do 3 meals a day, but on arrival day we are doing Spirit of Aloha which is 2 credits and then the night before we leave we are going to do Mickey's Backyard BBQ also 2 credits, so I have it figured out that we will be using all our dining credits but we will still have snack credits so maybe we will pay for half of the eat around the world stuff with snack credits and the other half we can do OOP, when we eat around the world more than likely we will be getting 2 things and splitting them between the 4 of us. That way its just a sampling of things, now in Norway and France where it looks like they have a TON of Yummy treats we may all get our own, LOL
