DH, me, DS9 and DS7 will be at WDW at the end of May. This is our 3rd trip but we have spent very little time in the worldshowcase. We are not on the Dining plan and would like to spend 1 day eating around the world. We would like to try 1 thing from each CS in WS. If you were going to try this, what would your plan of attack be? What is the one thing you would eat or share from each country?

My DH and I were at Disney during Easter. We had one night in Epcot with no plan for dinner and decided to do that same thing (only we did snacks and drinks.)

We didn't make it around the whole showcase because we were heading to Jellyrolls and didn't want to be too full, but we did try a few things. Here are our two "can't miss" items:

1 - Schoolbread in Norway's bakery -- Delicious! (Even found a recipe online that we repeated at home.)
2 - Funnel cake with ice cream at America -- I love funnel cake - but I love it more with ice cream! ;o)

We were there in Feb. and DH thought we should try eating around the world.
So we planned on having only coffee for breakfast that morning. We planned on having 2 CS meals and the rest would be small things. We really took our time walking around and checking out the shops between countries, this way we would have room for what we ate next. There were a few times I didn't think I could eat anything so we would just split it.

We started off with an empanada from the refreshment port before Canada.
Canada - well since we are canadian and the beer is not like what we have at home, we went into the store and bought chocolate bars...lol
UK - fish & chips - this was one of our CS
France - cafe mochas & a napolean...these are soooo good!
Morocco - Baklava
Japan - green tea & ginger cake...another great dessert!
U.S - funnel cake of course
Italy - I don't think we got anything from there.
Germany - for some reason we were hungry again so we had Brats & pretzels for our 2nd CS

Unfortunately we couldn't finish due to the weather, it was like 36, windy & rainy. We eventually had to give up and go back to our resort.

We are going to try it again in July. This time though I am going to take pictures & make a little journal about everything. We did have fun doing it, got pretty full but had fun!

Let us know how your adventure goes!

We have not done exactly what you plan, but we have eaten widely at WS CS. We love it.
Some of our favorites include:
Quesedilla at the Cantina de San Angel in Mexico (the menu may well change after the refurb)
Frankefurter with Saurkraut and roll in Germany
Shogun Combination at the Yakitori House in Japan
Lamb Wrap at the Tangerine Cafe in Morroco
Han and Cheese Quiche or Ham and Cheese Croissant at the Boulangerie Patisserie in France
Fish & Chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK
We have not eaten CS in China, Norway or the US. Nothing appeals to us. This should be great fun.
Enjoy

My sons & I sample chocolates or some other kind of candy from each country.

We did something slightly similar on our last 2 trips only we bought a combo plate for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) to split. We liked Morocco, Japan and England best of all. The plates in each of the places were hearty and offered a nice bite of each item.

There are pictures on my blog (link in my signature) under dining reviews. - Eating Our Way Around the World - Part I and II.

Hope this helps some. :)
