To all my Dis Friends

As some I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas, and travelling safe if they are on the road or in the air.

Meanwhile back on OCt 1st...

As I walked towards the hub I saw the Move it, Shake It, Celebrate It parade going on. Wonder if there was anything special for the day?

Look at the line for the Peoplemover

IMG_1914.jpg

IMG_1915.jpg

IMG_1916.jpg

I made good use of the FP- Seems like I could bounce back and forth between SM and Buzz and by the time I got one the other ride had the window open. Obviously I did that for a while;)

IMG_1919.jpg

I walked back towards the hub when I tired of the bouncing back and forth. I found this meet going on in the Rose Garden by the old boat docks.

IMG_1920.jpg

This was with the zoom maybe?

PUSH was out meeting and greeting

Stumbled on a special moment by Casey’s. PP were being all paparatzzi on them. Maybe they will be on the castle?

IMG_1925.jpg

Time for the 3pm parade. Maybe something extra special here?

IMG_1946.jpg

IMG_1947.jpg

Over to Frontierland I see a crowd.

IMG_1949.jpg

It was one of the special meet and greets with merchandise I suppose. I never did get inside so I was not sure. I did see some familiar faces though.

Yes, if you know your Disney parks you will realize this was not taken in Frontierland. He did not get in to the special event either . I followed them for a bit but then decided to go somewhere and just relax.
The park was not overly crowded but it was not empty either.

I boarded a raft

IMG_1952.jpg

My seat for the next little bit.

IMG_1953.jpg

Me in that seat.

IMG_1954.jpg

OOPS

IMG_1955.jpg

Looks like we have a problem.

I went exploring. As I entered, my glasses are transition so they get dark in the sunlight but they do not get light again fast.

Basically after entering the cave I walked into a wall. Looking around to make sure no one saw me I had to laugh. It would be me to walk into a cave wall.

It was now 5:45. I could leave.

Do I stick it out and hope for something special for the fireworks and nighttime parade?

Sorry I fell behind... I am so proud of you for running the race! Kudos!! :worship: Here's a question. Are the behind the scenes views and overall experience enough that you'd recommend a non-runner but big Disney fan give it a try? Know that's a tough question but just looking for any perspective you might have. With knee issues, likely the best I could do would be speed walking and just wondering how many "special extras" there are and whether it might be "worth it." Obviously I will be continuing to visit the World in a "regular" capacity for years to come but am always looking for something new. :)

I listened to some of Lou and the box people that weekend so fun to see some pictures! :thumbsup2

Glad you are all caught up.

I still consider myself a non-runner of sorts and Disney is what got me through it. I have never run another race so I have nothing to compare it to, but the characters and just running through the park was an experience I am glad I had. Like I said I did not stop for the characters because I was real focused on being able to say I "ran" the whole thing.

Backstage is always kind of boring and not much is going on there but running through the park is a unique experience.

It is hard to explain but even at 7am there was a different energy before and during the race.

I would say find one of the races that interests you. I don't think you will be disappointed. :goodvibes

Pat your pix are wonderful !!! Loved the good use of the FP system !!I am getting outta the habit as we get the RED cards when we go with the Groups and they are WONDERFUL!! Honestly without them we would not have the time or the patience to handle the behaviors that would occur in LONG lines !!!!:scared1:

Pat you are just like me owning up to things like walking into walls:rotfl2::rotfl2: I LOVE it  Now they have to say "Only Rosie or Pat ":rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am sure your group would be harder to handle without the GAC cards. That day I was expecting crowds and there were, but I was able to avoid them and still do what I wanted. There was a huge line for Buzz but the FP return time was less thatn an hour. :confused3

I guess all Die hard Disney fans only stayed for the morning festivities and then either went over to F & W or rested for the half marathon.
The line for the Peoplemover was unreal.

I got in that cave and wham right into a wall. The funny thing was I thought I could see but the glasses were still darkened so I was not going too slow either.

Looking across towards HM from TSI

IMG_1961.jpg

It was now 5:45. I could leave. I really hoped that there was going to be some more surprises during the day. So far nothing. I held out hopes for the nighttime fireworks and castle show.

One last look at Tom Sawyer Island.

This bird was across from the Outpost store.

IMG_1967.jpg

IMG_1968.jpg

Not sure why I took this picture… But perhaps it had to with the birds. I think they were unusally freaked out by the bird.

Then I took in an attraction I have not seen in years. This one is another one that I remember fondly from my childhood. I guess animated bears make me smile. I also remember my parents just laughing over the silliness of these bears.

IMG_1987.jpg

I took way too many pictures so just “bear” with me ( sorry ) or scroll on by.

Even though I saw many moments that day, the little girl playing in the hub with her dad and the couple that got engaged, but neither were on the castle.

I stayed for Wishes. No special 40th tag or difference there. Execept that I had a perfect view for a Tinkerbell photos and..... No Tinkerbell.

IMG_2027.jpg

Finishing out the night next

I was determined to stick it out. After Wishes I moved up to right in front of the castle. The crowd was way down now, so I had plenty of room.

While I wait.

I was a bit disappointed that other than the opening and parade there was nothing super special. I did read that it was supposed to be low key and well it was by Disney standards.
Now I hope that the 50th is a huge party!!!!

I got back to the room around Midnight and so far I have not mentioned bus music. All Star Sports has well, sports themed music. We are the champions, school fight songs and songs you hear at various games. It always seemed as though I would hear the same songs in the same order so for me it got old. Still have to POP the award for the best bus music.

I don't know, I really like the Jimmy Buffett music they play on the Old Key West buses :)

Holy mega update! Glad I took a quick look before bed. Love all the castle pictures, And I love your parade pictures - they are always awesome. I thought about you everytime I saw a parade in Disney.

I have yet to see push. bummer. I even looked for him.

What's with the line for the people mover. :confused3

Way to work the FP's. I noticed that there were a lot of people in the parks when I was there, but most were not working the FP system. Silly people.

Loved the HoP pictures!

Fun update, as always:thumbsup2

loved the updates....but i have to ask busses on different lines to resorts play different music? i have never noticed this.

I went to OKW once. The bus have not had music. Hmmmm must go again, that might tip the scales. :scratchin

I am almost ready to leave to I am pumping them out once again. Don't think I will finish though...

PUSH was on the move there. I have not had the opportunity to spend some quality time with PUSH yet. :lmao:

The Peoplemover with that kind of line. That time I stayed away from that line, I could ride Buzz and SM for a while. :lmao:

So Silly. I figure on Oct 1 alll the people int he know left after teh 10 am parade and ceremony. Any others were doing special meets and maybe not really touring per say. I had really fast turn around times on those FP.

Loved the HoP pictures!

Fun update, as always:thumbsup2

I had fun that day. There was just a certain energy there that day. I got to do a few I don't do every trip like HoP, County Bears and TSI.

loved the updates....but i have to ask busses on different lines to resorts play different music? i have never noticed this.

Glad you are hanging around. Just as each bus plays different music when it pulls into each of the parks, it plays different music for each resort too.
POP plays varied "pop"ular music from the 50's- 90's. POR plays banjo music, POFQ plays more bayou mardigras music, the POly plays hawaiian music. CSR plays the southwest type music.

I am sure with Parker you are distracted a bit but next time listen. It is a nice touch. For me with POP it is so varied that I can either dance if I am so inclined ( or had enough to drink ;) :rotfl2:) or just play name that tune which passes the time.

There is always the time where you get a late bus - like mine from the poly that night- and well, I just got plain old outside the gate radio music. :lmao:

My last day in the world.

I was thinking about what I wanted to accomplish and what was still on my list. I had items at 3 of the parks.
As I was wandering around the day before I overheard a tidbit of information. Apparently the Special merchandise that was available the day before was not sold out. They would bring the merchandise up overnight and it would be logged in and be sold the next day.
So I guess where I ended the night I was going to begin the next day. So now it would be 4 parks.

A new day- A family of the day – this was ordinary though.

IMG_2142.jpg

I walked in and walked right into the Emporium. I looked around for any indication that there was leftover merchandise. As I was looking I overheard a man talking to a CM about that very thing. So I joined in. She had no idea what we were talking about and time was ticking so we both decided to bolt. We heard the Outpost was the place to be, so we basically ran there.

JACKPOT. People were there but this was a secret. Needless to say I picked up some pins. Many pins.

I will have pictures os ALL the pins at the end of the day.

The best thing. The CM who had trouble checking me out for some reason, either by mistake or on purpose gave me the Premium pass discount instead of the regular AP discount.
My receipt.

IMG_2143.jpg

My job in Mk done- as you recall I spent the WHOLE day there yesterday. Now I am on to Park #2.

On the way out.

IMG_2145.jpg

IMG_2148.jpg

I was able to catch the whole show. I noticed something interesting. As the show was ending, the horse seemed to perk up and be ready before everyone was done. It was like the horse was listening to the music and had a cue to perk up and play his/her part. But I wasn’t sure. So I had to watch again.

IMG_2151.jpg

IMG_2152.jpg

IMG_2153.jpg

After he would stop he would be position his head down. When the music was almost over he would pick up his head and wait for everyone to board.

IMG_2157.jpg

She was not giving him any type of signal- I watched.

IMG_2158.jpg

I swear the horse was singing along

IMG_2159.jpg

IMG_2160.jpg

IMG_2161.jpg

Head down

IMG_2162.jpg

Head up - ready to go.
IMG_2163.jpg

I spoke with a CM near the entrance who was the horse’s handler and he told me he was one of three horses who do that job. He confirmed that the horse is so aware of what is going on he could practically sing along if he was so inclined.

Here I am going out while many others are going in.

IMG_2165.jpg

Heading here

IMG_2166.jpg

A beautiful day in the World

IMG_2167.jpg

I arrived here

IMG_2175.jpg

I was not either

IMG_2173.jpg

So I did not have to go here.

IMG_2174.jpg

I did stop here.

IMG_2172.jpg

I walk through the gift shop at the TTC. Never really went through there but I thought maybe just maybe they had a unique item. I found this

IMG_2177.jpg

Hmmm I had not seen this before so I bought it.

I was heading here.
