Great update. After today, I really needed that trip through the studios. I have a confession... I have never ridden ToT. I am really intrigued but scared to death of the drop. I'm sure that I will have to do it when DD hits the height requirement. She is a 4 year old dare devil. Nothing scares her.

You need to ride at least twice. Once to get over your fear and to get a feel of the ride and another time to enjoy it.

I did but I didn't get anyone to take my picture. Brook took it last time.

I know I've asked about it on other threads and people have tried to describe it, so I knew about where it was.....but now I know for sure! This is a big help, getting Sci-Fi in the picture. I finally get it! Thanks.

I thought of you when I backed up to get the shot. That area is odd because the Writers Stop is NOT on the map and right outside Star Tours on the map is a green patch and it is positioned just right so you can't really see around it and for good reason because it where Star Tours, the Streets of America, and even the muppets all converge.

What's up with that?

I am so glad I am not the only one wondering what the.... is up with that.

The products are faded but one summer will do that but I have no idea how long it has been there.

Catching up...

I was sitting in the back of Y&Y and just sipping my water and eating my egg roll just grinning when a little one would have a melt down. People must have thought I was crazy but I was so glad it wasn't my kid.

I have never noticed that before! Love it!

I didn't realize they had Mater & McQueen out in the streets at one point, that is very cool.

I think P & F are where they used to be so they are now in the street. Which kind of makes sense.

Great update, Pat. I'm with you -- love TOT (I think it is definitely my favorite ride in all of Disney now). You got some great photos of all parts of the park (since we limit ourselves to what we do at the Studios, we sometimes miss some of those shots).

When I am alone I have really taken the time to just wander. As I do the next update you will see what I mean.
It really needs to be just right temperature wise otherwise you are just misrerable.

I thik we need to plan a giant DIS meet and maybe we can convince you ( read take arms and legs and drag) on ToT. It really is NOT that bad.

Of course I need to convince a certain 17 year old boy for the NYE eve trip that his mother is not trying to kill him by "encouraging" him to go on ToT.


If we can't convince you to actually ride, you know you can always go right up to the elevator and then exit the "chicken exit" down the working elevator.

I was last on the Streets of America with Lightning McQueen and Mater.
I apparently had no plan because my next pictures are across the park at ToT.

Finally it is time to use my FP for TSM.

As I get to the merge point, I am asked how many- I say 1 and I am ushered right up the stairs on the right hand side. YAY For most of my other trips, the right side of the stairs are unused. So glad the single/double side is finally being used.

In less than 5 minutes I am seated and away I go. Apparently I was seated next to a ghost.

At least I beat the ghost.

I was not warmed up.

Back around for round 2.

So what do I do ? Walk back across the park to Star Tours.

This time I had to walk through Ewok village.

Now that there is a line maybe I can get some better interior shots.

After another wonderful ride. The only thing was I seemed to get “repeat” destinations. Of all the time I rode this trip ( probably 7 or 8 ) I only ended up at 2 or 3 different locations. I think I had 2 different beginnings and 2 endings.


The ride was great anyway. I made my way back towards the front of the park I encountered a flash mob….

I can't do R&RCoaster any more. The trip after I had been sideswiped and spun into a telephone pole in my car (a few years ago) , riding this really hurt my neck. Assuming it was mostly wreck-related, I gave it another chance the next time, and again, it hurt, so I have just let it go. If Brooklynn ever begs me to go on it, I will, but if not, I think I am done with that one for good.

You know so much more about Star Tours than I do. I like the ride, but I don't know who or what everyone/everything is about. I didn't know the outside was an Ewok village. I don't know is a good guy or a bad guy. In the past few years, through reading reports, I have picked up a few tiny facts, but I have never seen one of the movies.

The little guy on the back row of the ToT picture is not convinced that he is having a good time.

As long as I have the restraint down tight I am good. I make sure I am not going to move while we rock and roll. I heard there is more padding around the shoulder restraints probabably to keep your head and neck supported.

I saw the first one ( Part 4 ) and probably most of the second and third ( 5 &6) but I have not seen parts 2 and 3. I think I saw part 1.
We may have to call Jackie over to help us out. I know some but not nearly everything. Now DS Chris should be able to help me out a bit.

If I remember correctly, both thse moms had to reassure those boys a bit while we waited. I did not make any notes about ToT and those boys so I did not deem the reaction or the Moms "out of the ordinary" in making the kids ride or the kids screaming bloody murder or anything. In fact the one towards the center may have been " talking big" before he got on and the other one may have been more nervous.
I do rememebr that both moms commented and laughed a the photo since they were both talking to their child.

I heard a total of 54 different combinations. I heard different beginning, middle and ends. I definitley got some repeats but I don't the think the whole ride was the same just parts.

Oh I bet she will guilt you into it. Your days are numbered. I am just giving you a hard time. My DS won't ride either. I am hoping to convinve him to try it again this trip. I think his problem actually stems from him not being tall enough one trip and he got mad. I really thinks he is holding a grudge. That and a picture I have of us he does look pretty funny. I will have to find a way to upload it.

Glennbo and / or Dan had some tips but just google TSM tips and you tube has some guy who basically walks you through the ride and shows you. Considering all that my score still kind of stinks.

I still always see something new every trip. Each season there is a new vibe to the parks. One of the many reasons we all keep going back.
