Eat At Your Own Risk in WDW

Our local news is doing a story about eating at your own risk in restaurants. This week its WDW.

Go to www.cbsnewyork.com and scroll down until you see it. Last night was Epcot Center. Seems to be a problem with the restaurants keeping their food at safe temperatures.

Thought you may find it interesting as they also list the restaurants without any violations.

Here in Boston, restaurants are supposed to post their inspection results, and it's common for restaurants to have a few issues...we took a tour of the galley, and from a professional point of view (DH is a professional chef, has been for 24+ years) that kitchen is beyond spotless, but apparently they have their own health inspectors that keep everyone on their toes.

There's already a thread about this on the restaurants board. My take is that CBS is really slumming for ratings when they have to take on the Mouse. Eight people got sick out of how many million served? Give me a break.

I agree w/gometros.

I've eaten at WDW every year for the past five years and have not gotten sick yet. Not saying it won't happen, but until/if it does, do I not eat there to be safe, and lose out on something that was probably well-prepared and delicious?

Now if only I could get my MIL to not let the Thanksgiving leftovers sit out for HOURS!

Sigh...this will probably be fuel for rash of food poisoning claims at WDW now.
As someone who ADORES eating hackpeter at restaurants (raw ground beef with a raw egg on top of it), I guess that I just have a cast iron stomach. It's hard to find any place that serves it anymore.

The number of meals I've had at WDW over the last 13 years is probably well into the 100's by now and I've never felt even slightly sick from any of them. I think the odds of getting food poisening from one of their restaurants is very small. I'm sure it happens, it happens everywhere but I don't believe the chances of it happening very often are all that great.
