Sounds amazing! It has been so cold, stew is the perfect thing. This week, my local grocer had boneless English roast for $6/lb. With one 3.5lb higher, they threw in: 1lb carrots, 3lbs russet potatoes, and 1.5lb yellow onions. (They also included a cook-in-bag spice packet, which I threw away. No Thank You.)
I took 2lb of the roast plus the carrots, half the potatoes, and 2/3 of the onions, plus some good quality beef stock and a bundle of fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, and sage) a little bit of flour, and made a great batch of stew in the slow cooker.
We were away for a long weekend, so I'm behind on planning for this week. Trying to use up stuff in the freezer first:
W- Fish & tater tots, cabbage salad
Th- Chef Salad
F- Homemade Pizza
Sa- Onion Soup, appetizers
Su- Fish Chowder
