I was wondering if it is pretty easy to get a date set for your wedding? It seems like there are a lot of people that choose Disney to host their wedding. (which I want to be one of those people). I was just wondering if dates are pretty booked up for like a year in advanced?

I just spoke to them last week and early this week and got it all set for November of this year. Give them a shout...there's dates still available for this year. Good luck!

Hi and welcome- First off you need to decide if you want a intimate wedding (20 people or less including you and your fiance) or if you want to go for a custom wedding (21 people and up). Call Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and ask to speak to someone about booking a date. If you want to get married this year let them know. Sometimes the custom brides have to go into a lottery system to get the date that they want- if there are a lot of people requesting the same date. It should not be too hard to get a date as long as you are flexible with the times.

Congratulations and good luck!

Getting the date that you want depends really on the time of year and day of week. For example, May and June are really popular, and Saturdays are the most popular day. If you want to have your wedding during that time, you may have to go into the lottery system. We are having ours on a Thursday so it was no problem to book less than a year in advance.

Wow, a Disney wedding! I'm so jealous! We're planning on doing a Disney honeymoon though! Gotta get on the ball though- I'm so afraid we've waited too long to try to book it!

I had no problem getting the date we wanted but we were an Intimate and wanted it on a Thursday. I was surprised that we were able to get our date actually!

We had no problem booking less than a year out either, but we are doing it in January and on a Sunday, which isn't that popular. We just had to be flexible with our time, since our first choice was taken.
I was pretty surprised that we got our date too. It sounded like there was still a lot of availability from what my SM told me.
Oh, and congratulations! :woohoo:

Thanks everyone! A disney wedding is still just a dream in my head right now. However, it is something that I have always wanted! My mom keeps telling me if I do it that no one will come from my side of the family because of the price to get down there.(they are all farmers) My argument is that this could be their one and only chance to go to Disney World for a discounted price. So we will see. :)

DH and I got married one year ago Sunday (April 9)...we took our Honeymoon to Disney and it was fabulous!

Congrats to all the soon to be newlyweds! :bride: :groom:

Don't listen too closely to your mother. I have always wanted a Disney wedding, so when we finally got engaged earlier this year, I went ahead and started making plans. My mom insisted that we would never get the 40 guests I was planning on in my budget. Right now we have 50 tentative "yes" out of everyone we had on the list to invite. There has only been one no... My family does not have an excessive amount of money either, they're just excited to have an excuse to go to disney and a discount!

When I spoke to my EM about dates there was no issue at all, and I'm going with the last week in April, which is right on the edge of prime wedding season. I had 3 possilbe locations in mind for my reception, and all 3 were available, so I think that as long as you're open to possibilities you can definitely get a disney wedding you'll love!
