Can you use the Reward $s for DVC Dues?

Yes but they seem to have some new rules in effect this year for those of us on the monthly payment plan. When I called Member Accounting to apply my rewards card balance to my outstanding balance I was told I could only pay off the dues in full, I could not make a partial payment. I had actually called to ask that very question before transferring the rewards to the card and told the CM I was not happy about the conflicting information.

She said it was due to a change in their system but she went ahead and tried anyway, paying off the dues balance on two very small contracts and then making a partial payment on the dues on a third contract. Everything worked fine, at least for now. I am keeping an eye on my account between now and the end of the year to make sure everything continues to work OK as the final monthly payments are withdrawn from my bank account for that third contract.

There was a discussion about this a few weeks ago here and someone else reported that they were told a similar thing (no partial payments) but that they could call after their December payment was taken from their bank account but before the end of the year and then apply reward dollars as a credit against the following year's dues.

Good to know. I have $160 in rewards that is due to expire Dec 31.

My BLT dues are taken monthly. When we added BCV resale I assumed they would be added to the monthly payment but it wasn't. Seems I failed to call MS and set it up. So I just pay BCV dues with my Disney Visa in January after I apply the rewards $. Making more 2% rewards for next year.

We have been buying the Disney gift cards at Target and getting the 5% off with the Target card. I will use the Rewards $ and then pay the balance on gift cards.

Please post about how it goes. As I said, the CM insisted that what I wanted to do would not work, but it did work when she tried it. So maybe the problem has been fixed or maybe the CM was confusing rewards cards with something else or ??? I would really like to hear about your experience when you call Member Accounting to do this!
