We decided at the last minute to do an Easter trip to Disney (after much internal debate about the selfishness of leaving family on a holiday). I was worrried about getting any good priority seatings but I was able to get every location that I requested and only once did I have to take a reservation twenty minutes later than I requested. I hope that this means that things might not be as hideously crowded as I fear it will be!

I wouldn't count on it. lol. but, I had the same experience--just made all my ps last night and got everything I asked for without a problem.

My family and I and our best friends will also be there Easter week and I hadn't even thought of how that might affect ressies for that Sunday. I've only made one PS so far for my DH's 40th birthday on Thursday. I managed to get an Illuminations cruise so we are going to have dinner first at Cape May which is one of his favorites. I haven't made any other's because I'm waiting to see the April hours and E ticket nights first to finalize my itinerary. It's driving me crazy! I want to make our PS's.

I agree! Where are those hours? It makes it difficult to plan. Glad to hear that you like Cape May. We are trying it for the first time this trip. Have a great 40th birthday celebration!!!

I had to chuckle when I read this:jester:
Don't feel guilty. It's your holiday.

This will be the third year DH & I have gone to WDW for Easter. We still get some high-browed looks:o But, for the most part, they have accepted it. Wait till they find out we plan on skipping Christmas this year, also:p

You see, we go for the holidays to escape family:eek: I'd rather face the holiday crowds than some of our family:eek:

Have fun planning, and enjoy that April weather in Florida:sunny:

cathy K,
is your cruise for the thursday before or after easter? Do you have any room left on it?

f-LORI-da, is there any chance we are related? The family dynamics sound all too familiar.

We, too, would rather deal with massive crowds than our own relatives. I have not gotten up the courage to tell anyone yet...could be a problem since they are all expecting to come here for Easter dinner.

By the way, we also have plans for Christmas in Disney this year.
Yes, those brows will definitely be raising! Maybe we could start spending holidays together in Disney after we both get excommunicated from our families. :p

Have a great, guilt-free trip!

Kevin,

Sorry, our best friends and their children are traveling with us and going on the Illuminations cruise with us so I don't have room. I was so happy when I got it but I didn't post on the Illuminations thread because I felt guilty that I had no room to share. Our's is on April 24th and I called on January 24th at 7:03 am and got the last boat. I had planned on starting to call at 6:58 am but then I got involved in some work emails and lost track of time. I would have been so mad at myself if I didn't get it. It was the one thing my DH really wanted for his birthday. I splurged and got the B-day package too with the cake and decorations.

We must be!

Too weird: Christmas Dinner is always my responsibility. Going at Christmas will be a first for us... we haven't told them yet about Christmas. Here's a tip: don't tell them until you absolutely have to. If you tell them too soon, they find someway to try to sabotage it, or at least guilt trip you to death. I can just hear it now when I tell them about Christmas: "But, where will we have Christmas Dinner?" My response: "Don't know where you'll be eating it, but I'll be having Christmas Dinner at the Flying Fish or possibly California Grill, or maybe with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare... no wait... Coral Reef.

LOL! Sounds good to me. Let's just hope they don't get a brilliant idea to tag along. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and all that. Naaaaa.

Have a great, guilt-free trip!

I think we are related too! We will be at the Swan for Easter and when the school calendar came out a few weeks ago it coincided with the 11 month window at BWV so I booked Christmas too! One relative that couldn't make it this past Christmas happened to mention she would be back on track for next Christmas ( which means my house) I had to say sorry won't be here! The LOOKs! Oh,well. haven't finalized our Ps for Easter, thinking of Gospel Brunch and Cindy's for dinner

This is becoming the dis functional family thread, lol;) :jester:

Hey, msdisney53 , I think the Gospel Brunch on Easter Sunday is a great idea! Have fun!:earsboy: :earsgirl:
