I saw this made on our local PBS station today. It was very easy and looks tasty.

In a 9 X 13" pan, layer:

1 can crushed pineapple with juice (don't drain)
1 bag frozen peaches
1 box white cake mix, dry
1 bag frozen peaches
raisins &/or nuts as desired
1/4 to 1/2 C. brown sugar
1 stick butter, melted

Bake at 350 degrees F for about 55 minutes, until golden. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

You could probably use frozen berries instead or along with the peaches if desired. Maybe even a different flavor of cake, such as spice.

you list 'bag of peaches' 2x...do you need 2 bags..or was this just a typo?..usually I can only find the 2 lb bags of frozen peaches..so if you need 2 that sounds like a LOT of peaches!

They used 2 bags of peaches but the bags looked smaller than 2 lbs each. When layered the peaches just covered the surface of the previous layer.

do you think i could make this without the pineapples?

I was wondering this myself. They used the pineapple with juice for moisture, I suppose since the cake mix is added dry.

I can't see why any canned fruit plus juice wouldn't work. Pears or fruit cocktail might be nice.
