Evening all,

In over ten onsite visits I've never used the hotel easy pass to charge something to the room! However now that we are travelling as a family and with our next trip being a longer one it seems like a good idea rather than have the necessary funds in cash.

I was just wondering if anyone else does this? Do you get an itemised bill at the end of your stay? Do the AP discounts all come off correctly on Food and purchases? Can you use the pass in the village or just the parks?

Thanks!

easypass is great :) - we do our shopping in the morning (or anytime in the day up to around 2.30pm) in either the parks or the Village, you tell the cashier before they start ringing up your purchases that you want to have the items sent to your hotel, and they give you both an itemised receipt, and a hotel easypass receipt. You take the easypass receipt to your hotel gift shop in the evening, and your items will be there for you.

You do the same with your AP to get discounts at the shops and restaurants, when you are paying, you hand over your AP before you pay, and they take the discount off at the till. At table service restaurants, when you ask for your bill, give them your AP.

I used the hotel easypass both times I was there for food and shopping and found it great.

You can check your total on your TV every evening to keep an eye on how much you're spending - seemed to update pretty much instantly as our evening drinks in the bar were on the bill half an hour later. It meant 1 foreign exchange charge for me so worked out cheaper and limited the amount of cash I needed to carry.

You may need to specifically ask for it to be activated as a charge card - the CM at check in swiped my credit card and I assumed it was all set up but when I tried to charge something to it that evening I was told it was marked "ID only" so we had to go back and ask reception to activate it.

I too am a fan of easy pass for purchases and dining.....beats carrying around cash and it's just a slip of paper so a teeny tiny bag is all you need or inside pocket ;-)....keep track of your spending though as you can get a little carried away when it's not actual money lol :-/

Just make sure you hand over your Easy Pass BEFORE the transaction starts if you want to send your purchases to your room, regardless if you use it to pay. They need to fill out details on the computer BEFORE payment, otherwise they have to put it as a refund and start again, meaning you'll be charged twice until the money is bavk into your account :-/

Oh, a tip I learned from my first visit. The easy pass is strong paper but still fairly flimsy so if you have a clear plastic wallet from a lanyard or ID badge you can keep it from getting all scrappy as you put it into and take it out of your bag / pocket. Made life easier this time.

Thank you all for your useful replies :) That's fab it sounds like it does just what I need it to do :)

It was okay carrying around enough cash when there was just the two of us doing a few nights but now there are four of us I always feel a bit uneasy carrying too much in cash! Exciting too that you can check your bill on the telly (it's the small things! :rotfl:)

Also great point about only having your card charged once - that's really helpful and the tip about sending your shopping to the hotel - I had forgotten that too! I'm blaming baby brain!

Thank you all :)
