For those of you who like to "make your own" Christmas gifts - I came across this idea on a different website.

Might be something that you can do with your kids this summer, on a rainy day.

I've got coasters that I've stamped on, that I LOVE. The tiles are available at stores like Home Depot, and are very inexpensive.

Don't forget that at Michaels - they often have 40% off coupons - so that will help with the cost too!

If you have the ability to "scan" your children's artwork - you could print that out instead of photos too!

Thanks!

DH needs some for the room with the pool table, so I think I'll have the kids help me make him some for his birthday this month. :upsidedow

I would HATE if Father's Day and DH's b-day were in the same month...sometimes it is hard enough coming up with 1 good idea at a time...let alone 2.

If you do this - please post pictures!!!

These are gorgeous - what a great idea.

OP - THANK YOU so much for posting!!!!:worship:

BTW, my DH's birthday is a few days after Father's Day...and yes, it's a pain!

My DH birthday is on father's day this year. I like it cause he is soooooo hard to buy for we only get a few bigger things. He also hates the fuss of birthdays/holidays.

I think I'll try one of these for his office -- I have done the tiles that you stamp, but not sure about the tissue paper in the printer. Wish me luck!

This looks like such a cute craft! Do you think that the acrylic coat will get mushy if it's warm out and a cold, liquid-filled glass sweats on in for a while? I would hate to give this out as a gift and have it get ruined when they use it. :confused3

OP here. THe acrylic should hold up just fine. On the tile coasters that I stamped - probably 5 or 6 years ago - have held up well, and those had an a spray sealer on them.

Great! Thanks for the info.:) Can we find these tiles at craft stores?

No - they can be found in the tile section of Home Depot. I think these were called a "tumbled tile".

My mother's bithday is around Mother's Day. It certainly presents some gift giving challenges!
