Easy dessert ideas

Since some people can't/won't eat Cool Whip (I'm one of them) here's my go to easy dessert that's Cool Whip free"

one premade graham cracker or cookie crust
2 pints good ice cream - your choice of flavors
one jar of topping - again your choice

soften one container of ice cream and fill crust halfway - refreeze
add a layer of topping - refreeze
soften other container of ice cream and finish filling pie crust.

Easy and open to lots of variations.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest, except that we've always used cool whip instead of the topping.... but now I'm kind of anti-coolwhip too... so hot fudge sounds yummy!

Lots of yummy recipes here! As soon as I saw the title, I thought of the dump cake that 3prettyprincesses posted. I have also used canned peaches for this (with the pineapple) and that comes out great. I know people also use cherries too. It comes out like a cobbler. Yummy!

We love blueberry dump cake. And yes, it's like literally just dumping the ingredients in!

BLUEBERRY DUMP CAKE

2 1/2 c. crushed canned pineapple, undrained
3 c. fresh or frozen blueberries (if frozen, thaw)
3/4 c. sugar
1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 c. pecans, chopped (optional)

Spray 13x9 baking pan. Add the following in layers: undrained pineapple, blueberries, sugar, and dry cake mix. Do not stir. Drizzle melted butter over cake mix; sprinkle with pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Serve warm from the oven with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!:goodvibes

Blueberry Squares

Ingredients:
1 package of angel food cake mix, 16oz
21oz can of lite blueberry fruit pie filling (I used regular because I couldn‘t find lite blueberry pie filling)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F
2. In a large bowl, combine angel food cake mix with blueberry pie filling and stir for 1 minute until blended (Do not overblend). Pour batter into an ungreased, 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish; bake for 30-45 minutes. Cake is done when crust is deep golden brown and cracks on top appear dry. Remove from oven and turn pan upside down; rest corners of pan on 4 cans of equal size until cake is cool. Cut into 24 equal pieces.

Serves: 24

*So yummy and sometimes I put sweetened strawberries and cool whip over the top.

Drive to Sam's Club.
Spend 10 minutes browsing in books.
Check out the clothes.
Load up on Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus.
Buy some more dog treats.
Eat something unidentifiable out of a little plastic cup.
Stand in front of the dessert case and waffle for about 10 minutes, contemplating the various choices.
Buy the same Cheesecake Factory sampler cheesecake you always buy.
Go to the checkout line after first trying to decide whether or not you really need a 24 pack of legal paper or if you might have a pad or two under the spare tire in your car.
Wait 30 minutes in line behind a guy from a stripper's bar who pays for $325 in pretzels, popcorn, goldfish and sundry with ONES. (Try not to think about where those ones have been.) :scared1:
After checkout and drive home, put cheesecake, unopened, in fridge.
Take cheesecake out of fridge, drive to event. Remember to bring cheap plastic cake server.
Cut cheesecake out of box. Be fine with being labelled as the "clueless non-homemakery one", because hey, it's who you are!:snooty:
Appreciate the fact that every teenager at the get-together now worships you, if only for the fine calorie-laden dessert you bring.

Silly question but do you add the water to the cake mix or just use the dry mix?:confused3

No water, just those two ingredients. It sounds funny too; like it's fizzing. And don't be afraid to cook it a little longer if you have to. The crust should be dark brown and the cracks dry.

Trifle always goes over well.

My mom used to make cream puff shells (VERY easy). Slice in half, scoop ice cream in the middle - top with chocolate sauce. Yummy and presents well.

If you want an easy frozen dessert, Ice Cream Fudge Bars are really great.

I was asked to bring a dessert to my aunts for the fourth of July. Please keep the ideas coming. Someone posted a great dessert recipie at Christmas time that I made and everyone loved. I am thinking about some type of ice cream cake or something. That is something I know no one else will bring. TIA :)
