DD finally got her EBO this year and although I didn't expect much from it (it cooks with a light bulb for crying out loud!), I certainly expected something.

The cakes stick to the pan badly, even when greased, the cookies crumble apart. I'm guessing it needs a little egg in there.

Has anyone had any luck making a decent little cake with this thing?

We never had any luck with the boxes that are made for the oven. Every time Mom would cook (that's me) we would get DD's oven out and I would give her some of my batter. That worked out just fine. She did brownies, cookies, and cakes. Make sure that you really heat the oven up before hand.

I would expect that a lot of the grocery stores have the pre-made Christmas batter 1/2 off right now. You can freeze it in small packages and bring it out to defrost also. They have cookies and brownies. Hope this helps.

I would love to give you advice, but I've never had a lick of trouble with mine :confused3

Cakes always come out really well. I find the cookies touch and go, but more that they weren't to my taste, not that they were a "disaster".

I had one as a child and LOVED it, used it ALL the time. I couldn't wait to get one for my DD. It worked horribly so we threw it out.

DD11 has one, she's had it since she was around 7 I think. She always uses the EB mixes, we spray the pans with PAM, a nice generous spray and it's good to go. We've never had problems with things sticking.
