Hi all,

I have NO experience of the Easy Access Card but I've just discovered that I'm entitled to have one when we visit this May due to me being (rather heavily!) pregnant. Normally I wouldn't worry about getting one, but as it's a day trip, I think it would make the day slightly more bearable - especially as I have a lack of energy at the moment anyway and this is SUPPOSED to be the time I have the most energy! lol!

So I THINK it will help....but I don't actually know what it means! I've looked at the official brochure concerning it, but it doesn't specify what it can and can't be used for...

Have any of you used one? Either for yourself or a family member?

Thanks lovely people

Just to be on the safe side, get a doctor's note stating how far you are (even if it's noticeable, you never know the CM you get in front of you).

There are quite a rew rides I think you aren't able to do due to the size of your belly, so that depends really.

I'm not sure if this works like the regular EAC, but if it does, it cannot be used for the other people in your party, the carrier of the card must be present to go in the ride.

Thank you for that - the official brochure says that I can have a plus one, and yes, I need to be present with the card. I'm aiming on taking my MATb1 (think that's the code!! lol) form, so there's nothing more official than that. And I'm aware of the rides.

More interested to know what the pass actually does!! lol

Thanks!

Hi C. Catherine has always had a disabled priority pass and the easy access pass works pretty much the same way. Our visits have been more about M&Gs than rides so I know more about those than everything else.
  • The pass gets you and 1 other person into the roped off disabled areas for Dreams, Parades, Stars and Cars M&G. I've seen families with small children all be allowed in but the CMs can and sometimes do insist it is only 1 other person. If they are only letting 1 person in your OH may be abe to get a spot just the other side of the rope so you are still together. Dreams is on Central Plaza, upper left quadrant facing the castle, and Parade is either opposite City Hall, or we preferred Royal Castle Stage where the stone benches are.
  • When there is no ticket system operating at the PP you just go to the exit with your pass and unless there are other people with passes waiting you are normally let straight in and often given a choice of which of the 2 princesses you would like to meet.
  • For Meet Mickey you go to a door round the right hand side and press a doorbell. A CM will come and talk to you and advise how long you will have to wait - we've never had to wait more than 15 minutes there.
  • At other M&Gs with an organised queue such as the EMH M&Gs there will be a rope at the front of the queue with a disabled badge on it - you go there and ask the CM if you can see the character. They will ask you to wait but normally the wait is much shorter than the main queue. You do still need to be early for the EMH meets as they will not allow any disabled / easy access passes to wait once they have closed the queue to other guests. In December we were too late at 8.45 for some M&Gs - not sure if EMH is still this busy.
  • For rides you will be given a booklet with your pass and it explains what rides you are excluded from and more importantly where the disabled entrance is. It differs from ride to ride. The ones we used were Buzz - you go to the left between the fastpass entrance and the shop and there is a gate with a disabled sign on it. You wait there - a CM comes regularly to check if anyone is waiting and they will take you through the exit to the ride. For IASW you go to the exit and show the CM your card. Pirates we were sometimes given a ticket with a time to return. Dumbo go to the exit.
  • You will have another able bodied person with you so probably not relevant but showing your card should get you assistance in counter service restaurants. I did ask as it was too difficult to hold a tray and push a wheelchair and Catherine wasn't always able to manage the tray.
Once when we were queuing for times to meet Merida in December and there were a lot of people with passes waiting the CM asked people with easy access passes to wait to one side until they had given times to people with priority passes. That was the only time I saw that happen in 3 visits and it didn't happen in the long queue for times to meet Anna and Elsa in December.

Hope that helps. Shout if you have a specific question.

Thank you Anemone - That's perfect. I really don't want to take advantage of the pass, as I'm only pregnant after all, but if I can use it for a quick visit to the PP for DD on our quick one day visit, that would be amazing. REALLY don't fancy the long (never known it less than an hour's wait!) claustrophobic wait, with no seats, in there!!

Thank you so much. Just the information I need.

Or take your maternity notes.

I agree some cm are stupid. I was 28 weeks pregnant but measuring and looking bigger and he still tried to say he's no idea if Im really pregnant lol

Thanks for posting this question! I never even thought to ask what was included and it's certainly more than expected. Like you i will only use it if needed, maybe to see Dreams as we have never seen it before.

Anemone - thanks so much for all the info! Do you know if you have to get to the viewing areas for the parade and Dreams very early to be able to sit down? Does it fill up quickly?

This is great to know thanks. I may not be able to get my Matb1 form in time or get to the doctors - I wish I had known about this earlier! And I'll take my notes with me everywhere anyway. I'll be about 23 weeks and only just showing - could look like a food baby LOL!

Thanks again!

Hi and you're welcome. There are a few benches to the rear of the disabled area for Dreams and they do fill up quickly. We would bags a place about an hour ahead of the start time if we could - she would promptly fall asleep on my shoulder. Last trip Catherine had the wheelchair so we didn't need a bench seat - I sat or kneeled on a cushion beside her. The area did get busy but not packed. So long as you didn't have to be front row there was lots of space. There are more stone benches in the parades area so we could get a seat up front about 30 minutes ahead of the start time or you could get a seat towards the back right up to the start. Pretty much everyone would stand up at the rope when it started.

Thank you, this is very helpful and will certainly help us plan what we do! Sounds like they are both do able and if I need to sit I can!
