Is the Eastern cruise cheapr then the Western cruise? If so, why?

Also, has anyone used Disney Rewards from the new Disney Credit Card? If so, how does it work?

DH wants to go to Gulf Shores Alabama next year & I want to go on another cruise:)

I beleive the reason for the Eastern cruise being less expensive is one fewer port, therefore lower port charges and taxes. That probably is not the only difference. It may be a lot cheaper to park at St. Maarten than Key West, or Grand Cayman or Cozamel. The Magic "parks" in prime locations on the Western cruise (except of course Grand Cayman where everyone anchors off shore). In St. Maarten there appears to be only one pier where we stop on the Dutch side.

Good question! I'm trying to research before our 4 night cruise in December, so I can hopefully talk dh into rebooking while we are onboard! Now, I just have to decide which itinerary people seem to like the most!! ;)

I believe that the western cruise has been priced higher because it is newer and Disney can price it higher. All Disney Cruise prices are set so that they fill the ship. When school is out it is expensive because everyone wants to go then. When school is in session, it is cheaper beacuse the demand is less. Luckily my kids are still pre-school age, so I have yet to make the decision about taking them out of school for a vacation.
