It really depends on what you and your family like to do. We love both!
Really into shopping - I think it is better on the Eastern.
Really enjoy sea days - again the Eastern is a better deal for this as you have 3 full sea days not 2 1/2.
Into gambling? Since there is no casino on the Disney ships you are better off on the Eastern as St. Martin has casinos.
Really love different ports - then the Western wins as it has Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel vs. just two St. Martin and St. Thomas on the Eastern.
Really love to scuba/snorkel - then I think the Western is better. Snorkeling with the stingrays is awesome and I've heard the other dive sites are very cool as well.
Into history? Then head to the Western where you can visit Myan ruins.
Love a fantastic beach day - your a winner either way with Disney's private island Castaway Cay!
We are set to do the Eastern in May, but I can definately say that the Western was fantastic! We loved the all the ports and felt as though we kept busy. We chose the Western first because the ports were more appealing to us, especially Grand Cayman which I had always wanted to see. I am looking forward to the extra day at sea on the Eastern, but on the Western we felt that we did have plenty of time to explore the ship! You'll have a great time on either!
Difficult decision, but the Eastern wins: much more picturesque. Wasnt keen on G. Cayman - very little to do.(Stingray trip is the thing to do here). Cozumel is lively - but didnt feel comfortable being hassled by shopkeepers. Key West is lovely, but a little over-rated we thought. Dont bother with the sun set at Mallory Sq. Just sit on the Magic and watch it............. better view!
However, with the extra day at sea, and the beautiful scenery - we prefer the Eastern. You MUST go on the visit to the island of St. John. It is by far the prettiest place we have ever seen: every corner you turn -there is an even more breathtaking view. Take the tour offered by Disney................ very good value for money, and you are still back to St. Thomas in time to shop - or just sit and admire the lovely harbour. Whichever you choose............. you still WONT have time to do all the things on your NAVIGATOR! Nat
