Eastern Theme night parties?

I was looking at some pictures of past cruises. I was wondering on the Eastern do they do the 70's or 80's.
Also how into it do people get?
If everyone really does take part I think it would be great to bring clothes to join in, but if it is just everyone watching the staff have all the fun I wouldn't want to go to alot of trouble, considering the amount of "real" clothes you need to pack.
Any thoughts?

The theme nights are the same on both the Western and Eastern cruises. (I think they are even held on the same nights.)

I have seen some guests go all out for these nights and wear a complete outfit to match the theme. The "Groovy Staff" (Magic entertainment Cast Members) also dress for the part. I would say go for it. They are a lot of fun and can be quite memorable.

However, a word of warning, they WILL pull you up on stage and ask you to take part in some of the "wacky" things they do. You're probably MUCH more likely to be selected if you dress the part. Of course, you may not mind this at all!
