Eastern PA people can you help me?

My mom decided to use some timeshare points at a resort in Bushkill, PA. I've visited the area but it was like 11 years ago for our honeymoon. I remember taking a bus tour from that area to New York City. I've looked all over the internet looking for a company in the area that does bus tours to NYC and can't find any..Does anyone know of any?

Frankly I'm just looking for SOMETHING to do in the area at all....Hershey is an 1 and half away so we might visit that area for a bit. Dutch Wonderland I've looked up and Sesame Place. Other than that...I have NO idea what we can do and I would like to find something else to do besides amusement parks.

So my eastern PA disfolks, Can you make any suggestions on what to do up in that area?

Your closest amusement park would be Dorney Park & Wild Water Kingdom in Allentown, about 45-60 min away. Hershey is a much nicer park but it's 90 min. Being from just south of that area, we never do any vacation activities so I can't help you out there - but if you like shopping, The Crossings Outlets are up there, and they're great!

I'm sure someone else will come along with some great ideas for your trip. I know Camelback has tubing in the summer, and Great Wolf Lodge may have a day pass as well.

TaraPA is right about Dorney being the closest amusement park. Knoebels would also be closer than Hershey and they have yummy food and free admission! The Crayola Factory in Easton is cool, depending on the age of your kids. You can rent bikes or go whitewater rafting in Jim Thorpe (through the Lehigh Gorge). There are also scenic train rides out of Jim Thorpe.

I second Knoebles... I can NOT wait for it to open.. www.laketobias.com might be fun if your up for the ride also.. we go here alot in the summer.. the safari is SOOO fun! Where else can you feed zebras? We really do love it there! We take our own food. Very cheap and fun!

You can always take a Martz Bus into NYC Port Authority, or drive into Dover, NJ & tke NJ Transit into NY's Penn Station.

You will be about a 1 hr drive from Dorney. A 30 min drive from Great Bear Indoor Water park & the outlets.

Keep in mind over the spring/summerfall weekends traffic getting inout of Bushkill is HORRIBLE. I'm talking like a hour to go 2 miles. Real bad, we natives avoid it at all cost.

Where is great bear indoor water park? I'm trying to find one. I need to pretend its summer for a day I think.. I've been looking at Split Rock but their rates are kind of high for even a day pass

If you want to drive about 45-50 minutes to Scranton, you can go on the Coal Mine Tour at McDade Park. It's quite an education for the kids since so many children worked in the local anthracite mines in the early 1900s. They started young boys working as early as age 5 in very inhospitable working environments.

You actually can go down into the mine where the tour guide will give you a lesson on mining in the early 20th century and he'll show you around.

If you are into trains, you can go to the Steamtown National Historic Site. They offer train and trolley rides year round and there is a very good train museum.

If you are into the NBC show, The Office, you can go into the Steamtown Mall and get your picture taken with the Welcome to Scranton sign that is shown at the beginning of each show. It was moved from it's original highway spot because people were stopping on the shoulder of the road to take pictures at the sign.

While no one has mentioned it yet, while you're in Bushkill, you'll, of course, be hiking through Bushkill Falls and having a picnic lunch, right?
