Please help, we can't decide on eastern or western. Any ideas on which would be better for a family with a 6yr old and 9yr old?
Also, thinking about going the end of August. How risky is that as far as hurricane season goes? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

I personally would go with the Eastern. Reasons: It can be HOT at Key West and Cozumel in August. I don't mean warm, I mean HOT! I believe St. Maarten and St. Thomas are slightly more temperate. Plus, I enjoy relaxing on the days at sea. There are three days at sea on the Eastern, but only two on the Western.

As for hurricanes, no real reason to worry unless you are inflexible about which ports you visit. If there's a hurricane in one part of the Caribbean, the ship will visit another part instead.

We signed up for the Eastern the las week of August, have a 9 and 7 year old.Keeping our fingers crossed REAL tight there are no hurricanes. Went to WDW this past summer and it rained all week- so much for the dry season. You never know what you are going to get with mother nature. Plus, I can't imagine anything better than just being at sea for three days

one other thought to keep in mind...we just got back to day from a seven day western, and on Key West day there were five or six ships in port, and on Cozumel day i believe there were eight or nine ships in port which makes the areas very crowded!!! I also like having three sea days instead of two. just my two cents.
