If you were choosing based on weather only, and which one you would have the most luck (I know it is all luck at that time of year), which do you think is the best gamble? Thanks.

In reality, the weather in the islands (Grand Cayman and Cozumel on the Western, or St. Martin and St. Thomas on the Eastern) will be beautiful, 80's and warm. Key West on the Western could be a little chilly, possible highs only in the mid-60's if in a cold snap. Your main problem sailing in January will be the weather on Castaway Cay. Their record during January isn't that great, because it does get cold (60's) in January. There has to be a pretty warm snap in FL for Castaway Cay to be warm enough for swimming. Pick your cruise based on the ports you want to visit, or whether you want more or less sea days.

You should pick the ports you like the best however the Eastern is more likely to be a little warmer and the sea a little calmer for that time of year. :earsgirl:

Eastern had great weather for us with weather in the 80's and CC was high 70's. Extra day at sea was nice as well. My first choice was Eastern.
