Who has been at this time? I usually cruise beginning of summer so I'm unfamiliar with the weather - Is it worth spending the extra for a verandah or will it be too cool to enjoy? Thanks?

We have cruised this week 3 years in a row on this week and have always had a verandah. It is great. Though we have never sunbathed on it. Shorts and we're fine. Definitely in the 80's.

We've been at this time as well. It's a great time to experience the ship all decked out for Christmas. The Eastern itinerary takes you very far south and it is nice and warm (maybe even hot) there. Castaway Cay, on the other hand can be dicey. The air will probably be warm, but we found the water very cold at that time of year. But we live in Florida, so we're used to warm water.

We have and found St.Thomas and Puerto Rico nice and hot. The Caribbean will be hot but Florida and Bahamas (castaway cay) can be cool. It has been a few times now for us in December and January.
We live in central Canada and we find both Florida and Bahamas cool in the winter months.

We've cruised during that time of year probably 5 different times. Each was great weather wise and I'd definitely go for a balcony.

We are booked on the Dec 2/17 Fantasy and I was wondering about the weather too, so thanks for asking:genie::cutie:

We're booked on the same one.... I was told that it's usually in the 80's which is fine but, I'm from Az so that is on the chilly side for me. Not sure how much we used the verandah before during the summer so, at this time, we are passing and just going with the Family Oceanview. I didnt want cut down on room size with the verandah and I wasnt sure if I wanted to pay that much more for something I wasnt too sure that I would use. It's just two of us and my daughter (21) doesnt have strong feelings either way ( as long as we get the larger room). So, at this point, we are going to pass on the balcony. Since we're from the desert, we are just happy to see the water!!

This is when we usually cruise and we think it's lovely weather. We do spend a fair bit of time on the verandah especially during the day. Why sit on deck with lots of other people around when you can have privacy in your own room. We get a drink on deck, maybe grab some pizza and go back down to our room and sit on the verandah. The only thing is that sometimes CC is a bit windy and cool and some of our excursions like parasailing get cancelled due to high winds. But we've also been there at that time of year when it's really warm and beautiful.
