Eastern Caribbean, Here We Come Again…This Time on the Treasure (with photos) - May 2025

May 11, 2025

We love this itinerary because we love sea days!

Todd was up at 5:20 to go walk on Decks 4, 5 and 6. As we’ve mentioned, he wasn’t a big fan of the missing promenade. In addition, one side was often closed for cleaning and maintenance. So, he did a lot of back and forth to get all his steps. He walked a bit over 5 miles all in that little space! He came back to wake me up around 7:20 and we took showers and got ready to head to breakfast.

We headed up to Marceline Market around 8:00 for our first buffet breakfast of the cruise. We don’t care for the fact that the buffet isn’t self-serve. Todd was especially missing his waffle toppings, since he could only logistically fit a couple little cups of strawberries and whipped cream - he typically puts A LOT more! I was happy with my usuals of hash browns, bacon and some other things.

I was super excited about POG juice and also what we call “nuts and berries” - an assortment of toppings from the oatmeal bar without the oatmeal

After breakfast, we headed to Easy Disney Trivia (with Violet - who we remembered from the Fantasy the previous year). I don’t recall our score, but we did not win. Our experience on the Wish-class ships is that the trivia sessions are very crowded, so there’s a lot more competition (and fewer available seats!). We still had fun! After trivia, I headed up to Deck 11 to relax and watch some of The Incredibles on Funnel Vision while Todd headed to the gym to work on some of his physical therapy exercises.

While I was hanging out, I contacted a fellow DisBoards member (@DisneyWitch ) to see if she and her partner wanted to meet up with us at Brainteasers Trivia. Todd came and found me and I grabbed an ice cream on the way to trivia. This trivia was in Triton Lounge and was super crowded, definitely standing room only and we didn’t end up being able to sit near Andrea and Frank. We did say hello and then we were able to chat a bit and planned to meet up at another trivia after lunch.

We went back to Marceline Market to see what was available for lunch. I had another great salad, this time with strawberries, radishes and walnuts. Todd was very excited about the cream puffs he found for dessert!

All told, Todd had three dishes of the cream puffs

Coriander and Sage were doing a Jungle Cruise: An Interactive Adventure Story in the Grand Hall at 12:45, so we headed for that. We thought that the two playing these roles were fantastic and enjoyed everything we watched them do. This was no exception. They were funny and the people participating seemed to be having an excellent time! We walked around for a bit and took an adventure down to Deck 2 to see our room (2623) location for the Destiny. We’ll be doing that in May 2026!

Question of the Post: Do you like to get up earlier or sleep in on sea days?

We like to get up around 7. My husband doesn’t like to sleep in. He also likes to go to the sit down restaurant for breakfast because they make better coffee. Enjoy reading your trip report! We are cruising on the treasure in August.

I agree with him about the coffee in the main dining rooms. While I do enjoy my coffee most days, I'm not a have-to-have it person. So, I typically don't unless we go to sit-down breakfast.

The Treasure was great! What other ship(s) have you been on?

After the treasure in August all of them. We plan to cruise the destiny in January.

Nice! We also have done all of them! We have the Destiny booked for May 2026. It'll be a while before the Adventure is in the cards, so our full collection will have an asterisk soon.

Question of the Post: Do you like to get up earlier or sleep in on sea days?

Following. I like to get up early because I like walking around with a coffee with barely any people, just enjoying the ship

May 11, 2025 (continued)

At 2:00, we headed to Skipper Society for Imagineering Trivia, which was where we had planned to meet up with Andrea and Frank. Luckily, they’d gotten there early and had snagged a table (and chairs) for us! We scored 19/20, but lost a three-way tiebreaker. Again, still lots of fun, and now we’ll hopefully remember that tiebreaker answer!

We walked around a bit more and took a stroll through Mickey’s Mainsail to see what was for sale. We’re not big shoppers, but we do like to browse. I had my eye on a bag from our previous cruise, so I was on the lookout. At 3:00, we stopped by Sarabi to watch the game show, Heard That (with Suzi). As we’re writing, I’m trying to remember if I participated. I’m pretty sure I did; I love this one. We met a woman named Ashley who was a fellow veteran cruiser and compared notes about the Treasure. We’d end up running into her several times and would quickly compare our experiences each time!

Again, food! We went to grab some second-lunch at Donald’s Cantina. You know, to tide us over until late dinner. We walked through Jumbeaux Sweets to see the decor. I love those little lemmings! We then headed back to Skipper Society to check out what crafts were being made. We made some 3D Yodas (with Maxx) and then dropped them off on the door for Frank (he’s a big star wars fan!).

Todd’s 3D Yoda is seeing the world a little sideways

We went back to our room to get cleaned up for the evening. We had a wonderful surprise in our fish extender - we were given a $25 gift card as pixie dust! This was very generous and we were a bit shocked. At some point during the day, I’d gotten a notification reminding me to call for our additional Platinum gift. You’re allowed to choose between sparkling wine, non-alcoholic Cloudem, truffles or a fruit plate. Todd called and asked for the truffles and they got delivered while I was in the shower.

We saved one box of chocolates to eat at home.

This evening’s entertainment in the Walt Disney Theatre was Seas the Adventure. We really like this show! It has great songs and we really enjoy the part that Merida, Elsa and Moana sing together. It was also super fun to see a bunch of main stage cast members from other shows sitting in the front to watch. They were having such a good time!

Between the show and dinner, we went to Muppets Trivia (scored 15/21) and then went to the Officer’s Gathering, which was happening because it was formal night. We spent some time talking with Assistant Cruise Director, David, who we sailed with last year on the Fantasy. In not too long, it was time for dinner at 1923.

I love the decor in this restaurant, so I was looking forward to it. We were on the Roy Disney side on the Wish and this time we were on the Walt Disney side. We were happy that the assistant server automatically brought us our drinks that we’d had the night before. This is a detail that we liked on previous sailings, but had not really experienced on the last trip or two. We also chatted more with our tablemates, which was nice. It was still a bit strange that they had menus and bread before we even got there. We were definitely being treated like two, separate tables. Dinner was great, as usual. We often see people commenting that they don’t love the MDR food, but we really enjoy it!

Todd’s Moroccan-Spiced Roasted Kabocha & Butternut Squash

The late-night entertainment was a juggler, Ivan Skinfill. We’ve seen him on two other cruises and he’s not one of our favorites. He’s fine, but not really our style. So we skipped his performance. We headed to Triton Lounge for Ultimate Disney Trivia (with Sarah) and it was hard! We ended up scoring 12/20, which is a pretty low score for us - we live for Disney trivia facts. At 10:30, we headed to the Grand Hall to catch the end of the formal night character dance party, which is super fun to watch!

AD_4nXfXxOoecg7_-sktUTlWoywTrFTVVnoGsvTFq8_Vno3ilPpdDY97wE_bCwon59YHLgIOzhhNtxgoHLhq9CCjj5RNqezfxeOtQ1Hq4gaHGTb6omszZRSdsTHoEx3NwbB_OukpCyrj

Since Todd’s not a dancer, we usually watch things like the character
dance party from above. It’s still fun, even as a spectator!

We weren’t quite ready to call it a night, so we headed back toward Sarabi to watch some Karaoke. Ivan was still finishing up (ended up going 20 minutes late), so we walked out on Deck 4 for a bit. The moon was great, so we just hung out outside for a while. We then watched some of those brave enough to sing karaoke, there were some good singers on this ship! One of our comments is always that there should be karaoke-length versions of songs since they always seem a bit too long.

Back at the room around 12:30, we found our towel animal for the day, a bunny, and lots of chocolates for Mother’s Day. Todd was happy about that! We had crammed a lot into our sea day and I was ready for bed!

Question of the Post: What’s your favorite (or least favorite) variety act that you’ve seen on DCL?

John Charles, he was a musical act that many loved to see. He is no longer with DCL after I don’t know how many years. Last we saw him was in 2017.

May 12, 2025

Our day started off with our same routine of Todd going to walk and me sleeping for a bit. He left the room around 5:30 and, in addition to walking, he went and rode one of the bikes in the gym for about 20 minutes. His injury was feeling good and he said it felt good to really work up a sweat since it had been a while. He came back to wake me up around 7:40 and we headed to Marceline Market for breakfast.

At 9 am, we headed to our Art of Imagineering Tour. This is the same as the Art of the Theme Show Tour on other ships, if you’re familiar with it. There is no cost, but you have to sign up ahead of time once you can access the app on embarkation day. Typically, the tour guide takes you through various areas of the ship and gives some “inside” information about the ship and DCL. By chance, our friends Robert and Marrianne had signed up for the same time slot, so that was fun! Our tour guide was Violet and she did a great job.

There were about 25-30 people on the tour, which felt larger than we remembered from other times. Violet provided ear pieces so we could hear what she was explaining, which was nice. At the same time, one of the things we’ve liked about doing this tour is getting to interact with the guide and ask questions. This was a bit harder with the larger group and the headsets. It was still fun and a nice way to see some details in the design of the ship.

Violet sharing some interesting facts with our tour group.

The tour ended near Skipper Society just as Mickey and Friends trivia was starting. So, we made a team with Robert and Marrianne and scored 19/20! Still not enough to win. As I think I’d mentioned before, there was stiff trivia competition on this sailing!

After trivia, Todd headed up to check out the Hero Zone where they were doing some family games. I headed to Deck 11 to see what was showing on Funnel Vision and relax for a bit. When Todd came to find me, I was having a bit of first lunch from deck snacks. I grabbed an ice cream and we then both went back to the Hero Zone to watch the Tick Tock Challenge - another family game. It was really cute, kind of a Hungry Hungry Hippos vibe. We also played some Foosball. I did not win. I wouldn’t say that Todd is very good at this, but he is good at really spinning the poles so the ball goes flying really hard. I couldn’t stop laughing, so even though he crushed me, we both had fun!

A serious looking Todd getting ready to smash the ball

At noon, we stopped by Sarabi to watch some of the Family Karaoke. There was a boy, who was maybe 3 years old, that wanted to sing You’re Welcome from Moana. The twist was that he did not know how to read and knew none of the words except “you’re welcome”! Luckily, Josh was a great host and stepped up to help, singing all of the other words! There was also a little girl that was around the same age that sang the requisite Let It Go and crushed it…I think she knew all the words and even sang mostly on tune. All the kids and families were very cute and having a great time.

Disney Tunes Live Trivia was happening in the Grand Hall at 1:00, so we swung by there. This was more of a sing-a-long and some follow up questions with the large group - no scores, etc., but it was fun to listen in. We always enjoy the live music trivia with the piano players. We also got to see Minnie in her adventurer outfit, but didn’t get a great picture.

AD_4nXd0tSnEVv3zWhGHTvp8LTw1NK2Cn0yGYWELX4DWGsoOCNji1c9HtaIBVAeVFx_aXB6siyuKGHTxfIEvdHUO00nLGsn-riX-33Q4QmIz8Dj2jUsYFakmY6_LvqFuF4sNzaVKuFfL

A non-traditional – but still fun – Disney Tunes Trivia

Todd hadn’t done his stretching/PT for the day, so we found a little space on Deck 4 and did some stretching. Afterwards, Todd went up to the promenade on Deck 5 and told me I had to go check out the wind. I reluctantly went up, thinking he was exaggerating at how windy it was – spoiler alert! – he was not exaggerating! There was a spot that was the windiest I think I’ve ever felt! My shirt was blowing up under my arms and I had to tuck it in. I was laughing so hard that I thought I might pee my pants. There were two tween-aged kids up there as well, just standing and leaning into it because they wouldn’t fall down. It probably doesn’t translate well in writing, but it was really fun and memorable! We didn’t get a picture because we were too scared to take out a camera or phone for fear of them blowing overboard.

We went back up for some second lunch deck snacks and then went to a General Disney Trivia (3:30 pm) where we happened to run into Robert and Marrianne again. This isn’t too surprising since we’d bonded over trivia on the cruise we met them on last year. Our host was Sarah. I didn’t write down our score, but we did not win, again!

After trivia, we popped into the Haunted Mansion Parlor. I was just planning to walk through and check it out, but Robert and Marrianne joined us and there were seats, so we sat for a bit. We don’t typically spend “extra” on anything, so we hadn’t planned on getting anything to drink. Since we were hanging out with friends, I opted to get something and ordered the “Ghostly Retreat.” This had Coke, grenadine and cherry gummy eyeballs with a glow cube. It was cute! And I’ve always wanted to get a drink with a glow cube! Marrianne and I were also tagged to shake the tambourine and ring the bell to go along with the show with Madame Leota. I will say that it was a lot more fun to sit and enjoy the show with friends and a drink than it would have been to just walk through and look at it. It made it much more of an experience.

Since Ivan Skinfill was performing in the Walt Disney Theater, we skipped that. We showered and then went to see Captain America: Brave New World in the Wonderland Theater. We always want to watch movies on the ships, but we never seem to find time. This worked out perfectly and we really enjoyed the movie!

We headed up to the top decks to watch the Color Spin Dance party at 7:30. We had seen this show last year on the Fantasy and had enjoyed it. I think it doesn’t quite get the hype it deserves. We really like the mix of songs and the energy!

We recommend checking out the Color Spin Dance Party

Dinner was at Marvel. Our tablemate, Roger, was a big Marvel fan and had been telling us that he’d be dressing up. Boy did he! We didn’t get a picture, but he was full-on Fat Thor from Endgame. Amy wore a Scarlet Witch costume and they both looked great! Spiderman was very impressed when he came around to the tables.

AD_4nXdvNKLSm7RnddGnUkC9w2_DJiIjlTiOhMJnjEPjyZaYF1rmYRPffpRdXGlLN9nHLorEtFMkveVpKyZge1fA0V_VaibUXBCrQfggEmH_hmKBPvGtnC0G06RWpGLH9WfNCz_r-GsQxA

Todd and I both got the shawarma salad…maybe to choose something healthier to make sure we didn’t become Fat Thor?

After dinner, we ran into Goofy in the hall near what we refer to as the “tapestry stairs.” He and his character handler thought that was a great name for them! So, we got a picture to commemorate the moment. As we were walking away, we heard the character handler tell Goofy, “Let’s take the tapestry stairs, Goof!”

We ended our evening in Sarabi with a game of Go Fetch!, which was called Quest on the other ships. We paired up with a couple sitting next to us (Veronica and Richard) and she was dedicated! We didn’t win, but we had a lot of fun again! The Fly Boys did an adults-only show, so we stayed for that. Again, they were entertaining. We headed back to the room for a fairly early turn in at around 11:15.

Question of the Post: Do you like to participate in the game shows on board or just watch? What’s your most memorable moment from them?

I like to participate in the games! It's a great way to meet people and have fun. We always say that going on a cruise is a bit like summer camp for adults, at least for us! That being said, we will never participate in Match Your Mate, that's strictly for watching. Todd likes to watch, but doesn't typically get involved.

One of our most memorable moments was on the Magic in 2015 playing Quest. The cue was "bring me your team number and a group selfie with the atrium statue". Every one in Fathoms ran from the room and out to the atrium to take a picture with Helmsman Mickey and run back. It was chaos and so fun!

I smiled so big when I read about your windy experience on the Deck 5 promenade because that was one of our favorite moments on our Wish cruise earlier this year. I had never felt wind that strong and we were all just cracking up trying to walk around and take pictures! My hair was down and completely covered my face the entire time, I could hardly see, so I know exactly what you're talking about when you said you were laughing so hard!!

As for your question of the day, we prefer to just watch the game shows but we played Quest one time and had an absolute blast - I think we'll play that one again!
