Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

We are not doing any excursions as well. I thought about it for such a long time and decided our main focus will be the ship in this first experience. Of course I want to get out and explore a little bit, so a family beach would be just perfect.

My DD really wants to go zip lining sometime during this cruise, so I found this place on St.Martin Loterie Farms, www.loteriefarms.com. It got really good reviews on Tripadvisor, so I was wondering if anyone has heard anything good or bad about the experience. It would probably be just me and my daughter who will be turning 9 since the boys don't want to go.

15 Days!!!

So when do you make the puddle hop????
And actually start your holiday?

I'll start my holiday next Friday at noon when I leave the office - Anja even has that day off and thus will start hers on Thursday.
We'll fly across the Big Pond on Saturday 9/28 for a week on Amelia Island before we head down to Port C.
We'll start packing this weekend and will do the finishing touches next Friday.

Tropical Weather Update:
There's a low pressure system hanging in our cruise area presently. It doesn't have a big chance to become a named storm, but it'll drench our Ports-of-Call a bit.
Mexico is getting another beating.

We've been to Coki Beach during one of our Cruises and liked it a lot. Here's a guide to all of St. Thomas' beaches: http://www.vinow.com/stthomas/beaches_stt/

Thank you for the info. I have narrowed it down to 3 beaches, Coki, Magen's or Saphire. Did you just take a taxi to the beaches. I see DCL offers an excursion to Magen's but it is pretty expensive. I would say I have time to figure it out but heck we are 2 weeks away...

We went to Coki Beach for a pre-arranged dive excursion and were picked up by the Dive Center. Several other cruisers simply took a cab there, but I don't have a clue what they paid - and it was in 2006 anyway. I just remember that all of us divers -eight or ten people- shared a cab back (Pick-up with benches in the bed) and it was just a few bucks for each person.
But I googled that one for you:

Hi, 10620 looks like (from the cruise critic deck plan) that you'll be under the arcade and pool deck. The disboard stateroom review section didn't specifically list that room, but some reviews in general about deck 10 mention a lot of pool deck chair sliding noise, running, etc. I have not stayed on that deck personally but from what I have read, plan to try for deck 9 for a December cruise we are looking at. Some reports indicate it is only later in evening or early mornings and that they were heavy sleepers so it didn't bother them.

VGT rooms have finally been assigned! We've got Room 10620. Anyone know anything about it?

We are in 10664 and chose that one deliberately, because it has a really big verandah with not just chairs, but also two lounges and so we intend to use that one as our private sundeck instead of joining the hustle and bustle around the pools.
Before booking that room I did a query on the web and also read that during the day there will be some noise in that area caused by scraping chairs, but also that during the night that's usually not a bother. We'll nevertheless bring some earplugs - better safe than sorry.

I charged all the batteries of our cameras today, packed most of the tech-stuff and programmed all necessary addresses for the trip in my GPS.
I also sorted our dollars and distributed them evenly into several wallets. Tomorrow we'll start packing some clothes, but we also intend to buy a lot of new clothes while we're in the US as they are so much more affordable there.

I also checked the gas prices today and was delighted to find out that the Florida gas prices have dropped to around $3.40 :cool1:
Last weekend I filled our car over here and paid $8 per gallon. If you see someone standing at a pump in the US and smiling while filling his car, it is probably be a European ;)
At those low gas prices our rented Mustang V6 Convertible will run cheaper than our hybrid over here :thumbsup2

Hi there-I believe the fe groups on here are now closed. However if you have Facebook someone has stated a latecomers group. The fb group is called disney fantasy eastern carribean oct 5th 2013. She is also on here but am not sure how often she checks here- her name is mum2hope.

So much to do and now so little time! :hourglassSewing pirate boot covers, lighter and easier to carry instead of real boots for everyone. My daughter and I were counting just the shoes we need to bring, lol almost a suitcase of shoes.:rotfl2:
And we are so excited to make our homemade soft pretzels for the plane trip, with some homemade granola.

Extra special things: How many crave the Pineapple Whips? I wish the disney Cruise would bring this on the cruise next to the ice cream for all to enjoy!
But we will definitely enjoy it while at the Polynesian resort. and of course the magic kingdom.:wizard:

We love the Pineapple Swirl they're selling at Universal Studios. If I remember it correctly it's available right in front of that Poseidon Attraction - YumYum

Next weekend around this time we will be entering American airspace

We have not had them at Universal yet, but our trip includes us going to Universal this time, so I will look for them, thank you.

Welcome to our group TeamEady
:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
You are cutting it close ::yes::

But still in time to take part in some of the on goings. As Mrs Stevenson said, you can check with mum2hope about the late late comers FE. And we have a group page on which you can get plugged into to meets like our embarkation day meet (party).
I will send you an invitation shortly.

I look forward to getting to know you.
