Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

The new price of the VGT rooms are only for new bookings. If you were to cancel and rebook, since its passed the pif date, you would not get all your money back, depending on how much you paid, and how much saving you would get, you would have to call and see, with a VGT booking I do believe its consider a booking with restrictions and they are non refunded.... Good Luck
FYI-We called Disney today about those VGT rooms that are being offered at a great price. We considered canceling our original booking and then rebooking at the new rate, because we paid a lot more for a lower category of stateroom. Disney said that right now, there is a 75% cancellation fee, so we would only be refunded 25% of what we paid. Therefore, it would cost us more to cancel and rebook than keeping our orignal reservation. If anyone else was considering trying to do the same, do the math and see if your refund is enough to cover the cost of the new booking first.

In 6 Saturdays, we'll be on board!!!
See you real soon!

Hello all! This will be our first Disney cruise and are totally stoked!! We are a family of 4, with my DH, DS (13) and DS (10 1/2). We've never been to Florida, taken a cruise or done anything Disney, so this trip will be full of firsts for us. It will also be my DH 35th birthday and we celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary in August. (this was our treat to ourselves, lol) I am excited to meet others who will also be on the same ship at the same time. I would love to hear from anyone who will be on the ship with kids the same age. My 13 year old is stoked about Edge and informed me that he probably won't leave once he gets there! Thanks so much!

Watching the Fantasy in port with blue skies all around. In just 5 weeks it will be our turn to board the ship:woohoo:

Welcome to our group. You picked an exciting way to experience Disney and cruising for the first time.
We look forward to sharing it with you.
I have a 13 year old son as well. Don't count on yours spending all of his time in the Edge. Once he experiences the Aquaduck, he will want to spend a fair amount of time there as well. Plus having constant access to pizza, ice cream, and fries will bring his stomach on deck as well.
I am going to send you an invitation to our group page shortly. This is a good place to get caught up with what is going on in our group, and find out about things like meets, menus, and even practice cartoon drawing sheets for your night in Animators Palate.
I look forward to getting to know y'all.

Welcome! I've got 3 kiddos, but my only son is significantly older than your boys (7 months at time of travel, lol). My eldest DD is 12 and my younger DD is 10.

It sounds like you have some great celebrations in store! Excited to have you join us!

Howdy everybody!

It's glad to be back in this group! Sorry for be MIA for about a month! My brother and his family joined us and we went on a cruise on the biggest ship in the world! (Oasis of the seas) The children have started school now so I am ready to get back on the DISboards and start planning for this spectacular trip. Excited!! I believe the countdown is 45 days? Correct me if I'm wrong. Everybody have a nice day :)

If you are at the Port in 45 days, you will be there three days after we returned from our cruise :rotfl2:
The countdown is at 35 days - in five weeks we'll be cruisin'.

Welcome! Congrats on the anniversary.

My fish extender is done ! :cool1:

It is my latest duct tape creation.
I posted a picture on the group page.:surfweb:
Head over and take a look.

.....Side note about our door and our fish extender.....
We will have a dry erase board on our door for special notes or notes to the group. I put a pocket behind the blue strip with the star to hide the dry erase markers. When you stop by to sign our board I'd like to ask that you please put the markers back in the pocket to hide them from little hands. :artist:

Looks great, Tink :thumbsup2

Going to the gym for the first time today since I had the kidney stone three weeks ago and tomorrow it's back to work for the remaining four weeks til we leave for Florida.
Yesterday our cruise-Shirts arrived from the printer and now we're just waiting for the luggage tags and our car rental vouchers.

It's really time to leave as this week the supermarkets over here started selling xmas-treats :crazy2:
Anja and I usually simply ignore that and don't start buying that stuff before the middle of November.

Delta published their list of inflight movies for September. We can start our vacation with a Disney-fix as they'll show 'Monsters University' on our flight across the Big Pond :cool1:
We'll also definitely watch:
-The Internship
-The Hangover Part III

Anja and I usually watch the the same movie simultaneously, but I may watch the new Star Trek or 'Fast and Furious 6' as a fourth movie ;) Scheduled flight time is about 9.5 hours after all. Then we'll have a 3hour layover in ATlanta before a final short hop of 1:15hrs to JAX.

Dear Lord, I would SHOOT myself with flight durations such as those! I feel put out when I have to have a connection rather than a 2 hour non-stop. At least you're here for a while. Dh doesn't fly well at 6'5". We really want to visit Germany but I would need horse tranquilizers to get him on an international flight. No patience.

Just imagine that it is my second time this year as in July I was in Denver for six days - and that trip was even longer. First 9 hours to Philadelphia and then 4.5 hours to Denver. In 2007 I was even two times in Denver and one in Florida.
A former coworker of mine is from New Zealand and he always cals flights from Europe to the USA puddle-hopping. He used to fly home twice a year - one way was 24 hours. Especially tough for him as a heavy smoker ;)

A business-partner of mine had to do Sydney/Australia to FRankfurt and back in a bit over three days. He spent 48 hours in the air for two business appointments of a few hours each

I'm getting more and more used to flying. I've flown to the US 21 times, three times to Thailand (11 hours), four times to the Canary Islands (4.5 hours), several flights to destinations around the Mediterranean, dozens of flights within Germany and Europe. About 150 flights total with about 500 hours in the air.
On the flight back from the USA I usually pop a pill and sleep thru most of it. I'm 5'11', but DW is just a bit over 5 feet at 100lbs and so we got plenty of room :thumbsup2

:rotfl: We've flown all over the world - Australia, Austria, France, Spain, England, and all over the US, including Hawaii - but our longest flights of all were the 12-hour non-stops to/from NYC to Beijing, China (and that's not including our flights to/from NYC or the 6-hour layovers there each way). I can tell you that twelve hours in a flying tin can is 11.5 hours too long for me! :headache: In the end, we always thoroughly enjoy our destinations. :cool2: However, our preferred method of travel is definitely cruising!!! :goodvibes

You are wonderful, thank you:goodvibes
How many colors can y'all do.

Side note: what is entailed is cutting a 6 in. Strips of 1/4 in. Ribbon and attach each strip to a safety pin (you can search cancer ribbons to see how they look folded over)

Thanks again.

Tink

Let me check the colors I have and I will let you know.:yay: how many of each are we going to do?
