We're back from our first vacation in 2013. Our return flight from Fuerteventura was delayed by more than an hour, which resulted in an arrival time of 1115pm in Frankfurt. We were afraid that this would lead to a diversion to Nuremberg or Stuttgart as Frankfurt has a curfew of 11pm, but we our flight was fortunately granted a Special permission.
We had to wait 25 minutes for our bags, but were back home shortly after midnight. I had arranged for a limo to pick us up at the Airport and our Driver was waiting right next to the gate.
The vacation was awesome. We met a lot of people who had been there last year, too, and we also met a lot of new friends from all over Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
As the cooking there is very good we compensated for all the feasting by attending 41 classes at the gym in 13 days. The first two days we did one in the morning and three in afternoon and then we switched to just three in the afternoon as most mornings we had massages of 1hour each at the spa racking up a hefty bill
We did Zumba five times, five sessions with barbells, five with the flexi-bar and many, many more. We even had the opportunity of a couple of personal trainings with the head of their fitness department. That was especially funny as this guy is from the Frankfurt area and so we had a lot to talk about - and we tried to 'kill' each other by really racking up those weights. Two times we managed to work out so hard that we and the trainer really suffered the next day, but the massage took care of that: 'Pain is weakness leaving the body'
In the evenings we watched a show on one of their stages and usually had a few yummy cocktails. My record was six on one evening, but I suffered for that the next day and didn't drink any then
On the other nights my limit was three or sometimes even just two. Now it's back to no alcohol until the cruise.
Our next vacation will be the last week of June, but we haven't any firm plans yet for that. We'll either make day trips in the area or perhaps fly to Hamburg, Munich or London for a few days - we'll see.
