Eastern Airlines 1975, I walked through terminal A at Logan; I got on the New York shuttle; I found an empty seat, sat down and paid for my ticket when the stewardess walked by my seat. :cool1:

The only security check was when the stewardess walked by to make sure our seat belts were fastened. :hippie:

Back in May I used N's instead of M's on my wife's Delta ticket reservation for our April 2010 trip. :surfweb:

When I got the E-mail confirm from Delta; I saw my wife's name was spelled wrong I called Delta and they changed it for me at no charge. :laundy:

Now we have to do something about the middle initial on her drivers license and not on her Delta ticket. :laundy:

Baggage fees, meal fees, seat reservation fees, pillow and blanket fees, now holiday surcharges....next Pay Toilets? :scared1::scared1::scared1:

If the regulations and fees keep coming we'll need a lawyer to authorize our Airline ticket and a Bank loan officer to finance the ticket. :teacher:

Good luck all,
Joe

I know Eastern had its issues, but we loved using them for travel to WDW! The huge Whisperliners with two aisles! We felt like we were traveling to Europe!

It's so odd to see this thread. We flew Eastern Airlines to Bermuda. Two days after we arrived, they announced bankruptcy and we were stranded. We had to purchase tickets on Delta to get home!

Eastern Airlines 1986:
My first flight ever was a trip to Orlando booked through Eastern Airlines as a package.

$1021 total for 2 adults/1 child
RT flights, non-stop Philly to MCO
7 nights at Sheraton Lakeside Inn (now the Best Western Lakeside)
Rental car from Hertz for 7 days, I still remember it was a navy blue Ford LTD, it had power windows which we didn't have in our cars at home
3 days of passes (combo MK/EPCOT Center)
Wet n' Wild Passes
I am most certain pakrking was $2 a day and even then my Dad complained it was too much.

Side note: My Dad did business with Minute Maid/Coca-Cola and back in those days you could call your contact and get free passes, he got got a voucher for 8 single park tickets which we could exchange in for three 3-day combo MK/EPCOT tickets. That gave us 6 days total for both 2 parks with the tickets from Eastern.

good post. I remember the old Terminal A at Logan - when you could park your car right there at the terminal, instead of the central parking they have now. In the 80's I used to fly New York Air to La Guardia for something like $40 or $ 50 roundtrip.

we flew eastern 2 or 3 times 'way back when' and I can remember my first flight-around '77.I got paraded into the cockpit area to see the pilot and got my eastern wings pin!Which I still have!
