Ok,,, a question for the groupmind... We're planning
a trip to WDW this Easter season -probably getting
in Good Friday, and leaving the Thursday after.
Any idea what the crowds are during this time,
especially the weekend of Easter? We've been
at WDW for NYE every year but the Millennium
since 1992, so's we're used to crowds. Any idea
how this week compares?

The interesting part of this, which relates to other
things I've seen in other posts in other threads, is
that my 15yr DD asked if we could come down to
WDW for spring break, as she really loved the
place, and had SUCH a good time over NYE with
her family!!! Amazing! Miracles (or Disney Magic,
imho) never cease!!!

I've never toured WDW during Easter week so I'll just bump this back to page one for you so that some of our veterans can offer some advice.

Hope I can help...

We have always gone around the Easter weeks. This time splitting between both before and after...

My adivse is to expect large crowds and use fast pass.
We always take a midday break and go back to the parks in the evening. The parks are open much later than normal (MK usually open 'til 12 a.m.)

We are always able to manage the crowds and feel that if we don't see everything in one trip we will be back;)

Our 20 year old DS loves to go! This is the magical place for us where none of the kids fight!!:teeth:
The others are DD 17 and DD 10.

We have found the vacation spot that we ALL love!!

Can't tell you how it compares to NYE, but it can be sorta crazy.

Cool!

Thanks for the help. I figure that if we can
handle the week between xmas and new years
we can handle anything. The MK was busy busy
busy this NYE, but the extra fireworks for
New Years made it worth it!

Been there at Easter, done that at Easter, going back at Easter! ::yes::

Yes, the crowds are heavy but manageable as the above poster said. There are ways to try & avoid them depending on what you want to do.

If you really want to spend time doing the attractions then get to the parks at opening time, take a mid-day break to swim instead of waiting in lines & then go back again around dinner time.

Utilize Fastpass. You may even be able to get one on the way out for a mid-day break & then do the attraction if you return later.

I would avoid MK on Easter Monday - totally out of control! We have done EPCOT on Easter Sunday the past few years & it really wasn't too crowded. Don't know about MK on Easter Sunday but I have seen many people headed that way after mass as the CR because we have stayed there the past 2 years.

We have been there many times, as it sounds like you have, so we just kind of go with the flow. Actually, the weather should be warmer in April than it is in December, so you will probably use the pools more & may even want to do a water park. If you do a water park definitely get there when it opens. They hit capacity fairly early - about an hour after opening, if that - sometimes sooner.

Have a great time - wear your lime green ribbon! :D Maybe I'll see you there.

We will be there from April 9-17. Go early and use fastpass. Shows such as Fantasmic are usually offered twice daily. It is much easier to go to the later show. They often line-up about two hours before the first show starts. Also, Spectro is usually offered twice, and it is much easier to watch the later one.

For Easter 2003, the waterparks were often full by 10:00-11:00. We always left the parks by lunch and returned at dinner time when a lot of the strollers were gone for the day. Fastpass was often gone by very early afternoon for a lot of the rides. Also, make reservations early if you want to go for Easter dinner. Some of the restaurants have a special meal planned.
