Next year, our school district has the week after Easter off. It is the first time we have ever had a whole week off, so we were thinking of heading to Disney. We have visited in July the past 3 years and would like to avoid the heat this year. Taking my kids out of school is not an option, unfortunately, so we have to choose between April and July. Based on your experience, which is better - large crowds with moderate temps or lower crowds with summer heat? Thanks!

We also visit in July - near the 4th - because of a conference we attend in Orlando. We also go down there around Easter often also. I find the weather usually quite agreeable (especially April) but the spring break crowds are often...very large. I think it is more crowded around spring break than around the 4th of July. If you're used to going later in July - well I can't think that would be more crowded than around the 4th.

If you're used to visiting WDW and know how to effectively tour the parks and/or can live with missing some attractions (if you don't want to wait in the long line) then spring break is fine. I'd say try it and see what you think! It is rather nice to walk outside and not feel like you're in a sauna - lol! Although I see the temps down there this coming week are up to 90! So...yikes! lol

It really depends on your tolerance for heat and crowds - and which you want to avoid more! As you know, it is very hot and humid in July. We were there over 4th of July last year and I have to say it was not too bad. We toured early, took breaks in the afternoon, and ventured back out at night. Even the crowds were manageable. My family has not been brave enough to take on Easter or Christmas breaks, simply because we prefer heat to terrible crowds. However, I'm sure you could have a fabulous Spring Break trip with good planning. Just make sure you approach the trip with realistic expectations and plan as much as possible. Good luck with your decision!!!

We have gone at most times of the year.

We like high heat/low crowds or low heat/high crowds. We do not like high heat plus big crowds.

We love Christmas break/NYE because even though crowds are BANANAS it's not summer heat so we can deal with the crowds easier. We love September because it is high heat but low crowds. High heat and high crowds isn't a good mix for us.

I would choose April over July if it was our family!

I would choose Easter over July. July is so hot and humid that it's just not as enjoyable at all. Easter time, depending on when it falls, can be during the Spring Break rush. Both July and Easter are going to be crowded. I have gone many times in April and July, but when given the choice of when to go this year, we chose April, Easter, and as it just so happens to be my wife's 60th birthday.

Enjoy your trip!!!

We've done both July during 4th and March/April during spring break. Both have crazy amount of crowd of people so it's difference in weather. Just as other PPs, we prefer the mild spring break weather.

Easter is probably better. Though it's still warm down there even now. I've seen 80s on my weather app quite often recently. However, this year Easter does not fall in spring break so crowd calendars aren't expecting too bad of crowds. Depends on what it's like next year and where it falls like @DJ! said.

Thank you! I think we might try April. This past July was hotter than previous years and my kids were miserable. I am definitely a planner, so as long as we are able to fastpass our favorites, I think we will be OK. We are very fortunate that we have been to Disney multiple times, so it won't be a big deal if we miss some stuff.
