We started our day at Salon Mickey ( a wonderful habit
)and then headed off to the studios. We rode the flying carpets and watched Cinemaqique before queueing for our first visit to Stitch.
After the queuing area You first enter a pre-show room which advertises some Disney channel shows before you head into the main area.
Children are allowed to sit at the front on the blue carpet and adults sit on metal benches in rows behind them.
Stitch interacts via the CM with different people in the audience who he gets to do various tasks or say various things. He also gets some group activities going. It is very well done and is well worth a visit.
Shows are on every 15 mins 2 in French then - 2 in English seemed to be the pattern whilst we were there.
We had another turn of cars then queued to meet Sully before heading over to Frontierland and our lunch at The Lucky Nugget.
It was very busy when we arrived and we had to wait some time to be seated. We were allocated one of the round tables on what I presume is the dancefloor . We were lucky on that the band were on the stage when we arrived and so were some characters to our girls delight !
So before any lunch was even considered we met Minnie , Mickey and Pluto. Little Zoe was really excited to see Minnie as she was wearing her Minnie dress Awwww !
Susan and I took shifts at assisting our little people to choose from the buffet. Jess chose Mickey shaped pasta and bolognaise with some of the ranch bread you also get at buffalo bills. She told her Daddy when we got home that this was her favourite thing to eat the whole holiday !
Susan and I had to try out the starters first , of course and we both had a selection before choosing our main courses. I went for mainly BBQ food and some nachos with some really scrummy guacamole and salsa.
By this time the band had retired and another set of characters had appeared . Tigger who was in a very excitable mood
, Eeyore and Goofy .
Tigger was great fun and delighted all the children and adults alike.
The only thing I would say against the buffet was it was very close to the tables on the floor so got very congested especially for children and it when it was really busy Eeyore couldnt get passed to get to our table
After finishing lunch we headed back out to the sunshine
Yee Haa !. Frontierland really looks great in the Sun It matches the theming perfectly !
Susan wanted to head to Autopia after lunch and we walked over there basking in the sun (and shivering in the shade the weather was very changeable
). When we arrived there was a HUGE queue so we rethought our plan securing some Buzz fastpasses whilst we pondered.
Susan and Zoe opted for Orbitron . Jess and I headed of to the Pocahontas playground and were also secretly hoping that the keelboats maybe running too (well I was anyway)
The keelboats were closed unfortunately but the playground was very open. Jess had great fun running around and playing on the various bits and pieces. She made friends with a little Spanish boy and they had races up and down the hill next to the slides. I took loads of photos including this one which I just love.
On our way out of the playground we encountered both Chip and Dale outside the Cowboy cookout. There were only a few people around and Jess was the youngest by at least 10 years. She got loads of attention and even ended up dancing around with one of them.
It was just fab.
As if that wasnt enough we were lucky enough to run into Woody and Jessie whilst we walked towards Frontierland Station. Jessie stopped to pose with her namesake.
As we were in no hurry we then popped into the round up area to catch up with Bullseye and Stinky Pete so we could complete the set.
We caught the next train and headed back to Discoveryland to meet up with Susan and Zoe and ride Buzz.
Jess and I then spent my 10 off a 40 spend voucher (the benefits of APs are great
) on an alien called Angel (who looks very like Stitch) and a Minnie dress up set. Answers on a postcard (or a thread
on who Angel is ???
)
We had some time to kill before our bus so stopped in at the Emporium on Main St where Zoe got a Mickey/Minnie clubhouse and Jess a pink hair piece thing. Its kind of hard to describe but Ill have a try . Its a hair band with a picture of a princess on a bobble and some hair pieces in very lurid colours attached that hang down next to your real hair(we ended up buying more then next day as she can wear them with her glasses she used to love hairbands but unfortunately they hurt her head now with her glasses).
On our arrival home the girls played in the apartment for a while whilst Susan and I packed.. Later we paid another visit to the softplay/play room before settling down in front of a DVD and then bed.
