Easter this year

Right before all this started, Dd and sil bought a house.

My daughter put an offer on a house March 15th. Then we all panicked when the elder facilities she visits for her hospice job stopped letting her in.

But then the seller took another offer.

DD and DGS moved in with us last month but he goes to his dad's today. Last night we colored eggs and this morning we gave him his Easter basket and looked for the eggs that the Easter Bunny left. On Sunday it will be DD, DBF and I. They didn't really want to do a dinner but I got a ham anyway. We will have ham, mashed potatoes and green beans. I want to feel somewhat normal.

They haven’t even paid the first payment and he got furloughed. He will go back as soon as this is over but still scary. Their first payment is May 1 but the mortgage company has already called and offered to work with them on it. They said they would call back after his unemployment kicks in. They both agreed they would rather struggle now and make all their payments then to struggle later trying to play catch up.

Oh boy - am I the only parent to adult children that doesn't do baskets for them?
I don't either. My parents stopped when we were teens. We got a chocolate bunny but that was it. We also never got anything from grandparents. I got my kids a bag of candy but no baskets, they are early 30s. I got DH cand y too.

Well we normally do church and a family day plus dinner. This year obviously will be different so we are trying to make it as special as possible. We always do a family egg hunt but since it is going to rain on Easter, we are doing it tomorrow. To surprise the kiddos I am having Krispy Kreme delivered tomorrow morning first thing (yay for door dash!). Then church via video on Sunday and Easter baskets. Finally I am cooking a ham dinner (the usual) and have managed to cobble together pretty much what we normally have. Since it will be a nasty day out we are planning on some fun games/ movies etc. Phone calls with family etc.

This will be the first year in 21 years that I don't do a basket for my son. The grocery store has a limit on items we can order, so I didn't get any candy. :( I'll bake him some brownies and cookies and call it a day.

My daughter is on lockdown in her skilled facility so saving some Cadbury candy for her. My dil sent me an idea which I'm going to do. I have 3 dozen plastic eggs that I am filling up with dollar bills and candy (FaceTimed her showing me spraying Lysol n the bills... She yelled at my son that I was laundering money😀). I will go over and hide eggs in the front yard and put up a sign that the Easter bunny came and that grandma, uncle and aunties miss them. my son and I and Dd and her bf will park by the street to video\watch in separate cars. My oldest gs is doing zoom with all of us a few hours later. 4 different meals this year separately oh forgot that Amazon mysteriously delivered a bag of 84 pieces of Reeses pb cups and kitkats to grandkids last week. 😉
