We will be at HHI for Easter and I am trying to find information on where we would be able to attend Easter Sunday mass (catholic). Any one know? Is there a mass right at the resort? Also would love any dining tips for local fish restaurants and/or steak restaurants.
Thank You!

See ya there! We'll also be at HHI for Easter. The front desk did tell me that they're planning to have an Easter Brunch at the Beach House. I don't know the hours or the cost. I'm really glad for the info about the church mass-I don't think they have a service at the resort.

Oh, I forgot-you asked about local fish restuants. We like Captain Woody's and Salty Dog. I think the front desk recommended Boathouse II, but we haven't gotten there yet. We also liked the Sea Shack (VERY casual) and Roastfish and Cornbread. For recommendations while you're at the resort, Gordon in the Mercantile is tops.

I went to Holy Family when I was at Hilton Head.

It was not far from the resort and it was across the street from Sea Shack, which had fabulous, cheap food. BUT I was shocked at the comments made by the priest, multiple times during Mass, telling people that they should NOT leave early from Mass. How did he know that someone might not be heading to the airport or work or back home to a sick family member? It was such a difference from the pastor of the Shrine Church near WDW who commends folks for taking time during vacation to go to Mass. While I dislike the somewhat heavy-handed push for contributions at the Shrine, the Holy Family priest at HHI really put me off.

I was very uncomfortable when I went to Holy Family on HHI. I felt that the ushers were guarding the doors after communion. I'm glad to learn of another Catholic church on HHI. We will definitely try it. The fact that it is named St. Francis is a bonus!

The best way to find Catholic Masses when traveling is the website www.masstimes.org. This website gives you the local parishes and often has links to parish websites so that you can see a bulletin for mass special mass times around holidays like Easter and often driving directions.

Sorry that I don't have any info to offer you on the Easter services, but I do have a great recommendation for an awesome seafood place--Parrot Cove! It's located in Shelter Cove, so it's a very short walk from the resort! We discovered it on our first night at HHI and LOVED it. They had all you could eat crab legs for a very reasonable price, and they were fantastic. It wasn't a buffet either, all we had to do was let our server know when we were ready for more, and he brought them right out. They were some of the best crab legs that we've ever had!:thumbsup2

We loved the restaurant right across the walking bridge for an adult night out. I cannot remember the name! The seafood was excellent. And Flamingo Donuts was fantastic! Stay away from Alligator Grill...

We loved the restaurant just across the bridge as well. As a matter of fact, we were there the same nite as MinnesotaChill. If you don't remember, we were the people who went to the U with the two crazy little kids that couldn't stop running around the place. Haven't seen a post from you in a while. Hope all is well in Minnesota! We are going back to HH the same dates this year, maybe we will cross paths again.

The restaurant we both were talking about is the one on the right as you cross the bridge. We sat outside and had a very nice view as well. There was a guy playing music the whole night was very nice.
