We will have some for breakfast, with lots of salt for me and the kids and with the yolk removed and then filled with, yuck - mayo for DH. Then some of them will become deviled eggs. Some of them will go on to become an egg salad sandwich for me. The rest will meet their fate in the backyard vs. the bb gun.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_120.gif' border=0></a>

We have a big backyard which backs up to many other big backyards, approx. 5 acres of open land behind us. Please don't worry.;)

I am going to miss this part of easter.

They had hardboiled colored easter eggs at the hub which is the main plac we get food yesterday but something about that just didnt seem right.

Maybe the boyfriend and I can make some eggs this weekend

This is the first time in 14 years that we will not be doing easter eggs. DD said she didn't want to. So I HAD to make egg salad today, just for posterity reasons!!!! LOL

We colored them on Palm Sunday with Grandma...came home with about 2 dozen....we now have about 6 left. DD is an egg salad fiend! She's been taking it for lunch every day this week.

I LOVE Egg Salad. But since my mother doesn't like mayo, I never had egg (tuna, chicken) salad or deviled eggs until I was an adult!! I didn't even know such things existed! Can you believe that???? I was so sheltered!!

Our eggs will become deviled eggs for our Easter Meal. We go to my sister's. She has 2 kids, I have one. So we only do a dozen or so anyway. The rest that the Easter Bunny hides are plastic with special surprises inside.

BTW, if anyone has a good egg salad recipe, I would be SO happy if you would P.M. me. I've never made it but would LOVE to!!!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Two words:

Garbage Disposal

Noone here eats hard-boiled eggs, deviled eggs, egg salad....

Hi Joshsmom!

Where have you been?

We miss you at the Tagliarchy!

If I've had the eggs in water for 12min, just beginning to boil......now what? I forgot about them until I started posting. The bubbles were just boiling, not a rolling boil. I put the eggs in cold water and then began heating. Uh oh!

Anyhow, if they turn out....we'll be <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_3_18.gif' border=0></a> tonight. Taking them to grannies tomorrow for the hunt. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_3_24.gif' border=0></a> DS loves hardboiled eggs so he'll eat whatever he find that don't get broken.

My dad will probably eat some of them.

And I just had to share this- on the news last night they showed these little chicks who they injected dyes into the eggs before they hatched so they were all brightly colored like Easter eggs!! :D They were really cute. They said that when they get older their colored feathers will fall out and they'll be normal colored.

Had to laugh! My guys would rather shoot raw eggs, the little weirdos! I will have to save the colored ones, though, that are not eaten!

Thanks for asking! I've been around. Tagliarchy moves so fast! I leave for work caught up and when I come home 12 hours later there's 15 pages to read!!!! I'll check in over there and say HI! I'm off for a few days!!!

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread . . . . ..

Prolly going to make deviled eggs out of them...how do you make a "multi colored egg salad"?

You are right about that Josh'smom. I am cathcing up on like 15pgs now.

Hard boiled eggs at breakfast. Hard boiled eggs for lunch the next week.

We love the deviled eggs and egg salad but trying to cut down on fat. Yuck I hate cutting down on anything I like!!!

Lewski709 - I love your graphics.

I thought I was the only one who threw them out:p Also one question after you boil them for how many days or weeks are they good for?? My husband is on Atkins so he can eat these and we won't have to throw them out.

I think hard boiled eggs are OK for up to a week, but I'm not quite sure.

Anybody else out there know?

We leave them out on Easter so I won't let anyone eat them. Bacteria and all that. Also, I am worried about the effects of the dye (which is probably fine but I'm a paranoid).

It's funny, I remember my mom leaving them out all day on Easter when we were kids and getting one to eat in the middle of the afternoon. Don't remember ever getting sick from it. I would never do that now.

I cooked 15 eggs. Thought I had more than that, but some of them were a little bit cracked, so I though better not chance it.
