We're making our first Easter trip to WDW (we usually go in summer). We have decided that we will NOT be going to a park on Easter Sunday, rather, we'll be enjoying a day at the ASMu pool.

We'd like to have Easter dinner on-property, but do NOT want to have to use a ticket to get into a park on that day. So, I'm looking for advice on affordable dining for Easter this IS on property, but is NOT in one of the parks.

Boma sounds great, but I don't really want to spend $28 per adult for their buffet. What advice do you have???

I will make a suggestion to you about Easter. We spent Easter week at WDW two years ago. I also had not planned on going to the parks on Easter day. We had early lunch reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe and then were planning on heading back to our hotel, All Star Sports, to enjoy the pool and hotel. It was myself and my boyfriend (in our 40's) and my boyfriends son (17 at the time). Well, when we got to the pool it was SO CROWDED. We could not get a chair and you could not even move around in the pool. We stayed for about 30 minutes and then we could not take it anymore. We decided to head to the park.

We got to MGM around 3:30 and were able to catch the Lights, Motor, Action show. After that we toured the park and were able to get on a few rides - the park was really not that crowded. We caught the first showing of Fantasmic and then headed back to our hotel. We had our own car. When we got back to the hotel parking lot I said - MK is open until 3:00am (it was now around 10:30pm) why don't we go there. My boyfriend thought we were nuts but we convinced him to go. We got to MK around 11:00pm and we were there until 3:30am. It was great. By around 1:00am the park was emply. We rode Splash Mountain at least 4 times - in the front seat - without even having to get off. Each time we finished the ride the CM said - do you want to ride again. Of course we did.

There was something special about being in the MK at 3:00am walking down Main Street and enjoying the park. The next day we slept late and went to AK. We did not get there till around 12:30pm but they had EMH that night and were open until 11:00pm.

I would not rule out going into the parks on Easter Sunday. It might seem like a waste of a days ticket not going into the park until 3:30 pm but when you consider we were in the parks a full 12 hours - until 3:30am it was a day (and night) well spent.

As a side note - Boma is great. It is probably too soon now but if you check on allearsnet.com they will probably list special places that are having a special Easter lunch/dinner. Right now they have a section on Thanksgiving/Christmas lunch/dinner. Actually, I just checked and they have a section that lists 2007 Easter dining to give you an idea for 2008.

Thanks Linda,

We may consider going to the parks on Easter Sunday. We arrive on Saturday evening, and I'm not sure my kids can stand the excitement and anticipation if wait a full day before going to a park!

I am really interested in Boma. Thanks for the info.

You could go to the Boardwalk - plenty of restuarants to choose from and the festive evening atmosphere makes it feel like a park!
