Easter crowds/lines after dinnertime

Thinking about going on a family trip in mid-April just before Easter 2017 this year. I know parks will be mobbed. Considering two options: A) 1 night (2 rooms for our family size of 7) RPR to get Express Pass or B) 3 nights at a cheaper hotel and hit the parks after 6pm hoping the lines will be lighter. Thoughts? I heard that parking is also discounted after 6pm at Universal. TIA!
