 Molli!

I know you are busy, but when you have a chance I am now at 2.6/6 for this challenge. Hoping to increase that number this week, but it is still too early to tell.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!!

:surfweb: monday mornin'

i did have a busy weekend, sorry all to be so MIA; but i think our list is updated now :)

my weekend was a day-crop with good cookin' and sunday we went to Taco Bell after church. you know i really feel like i'm aware, picking and choosing and trying soooo hard to watch my portions and yet this tire around my middle is just big and there and feeling awful. i dread WI on wed b/c i'm sure i haven't lost a thing. i know you all are tired of my whining. i just don't get it. before if I stuck to the plan, oh say 80-85% i would slowly lose and on the weeks i was better i'd lose more. i'm not losing anything, in fact i wouldn't be surprised with TOM around the corner if i show a gain. i know Melanie and i still believe i can lose 10 lbs before i leave for vacation, it's just i need something to kickstart it and nothing is happening. i had the thought that if i don't lose before we go, than when i come home i bet i'll be back up another 5-7 lbs from the cruise which would put me close to my alltime high again. what is going on? just before christmas i was almost 10 lbs lighter? and honestly, i have had all the routine bloodwork done recently so i don't think it's medical that way. the only drugs i'm on is celebrex, i don't think that would be doing it.........

am i just getting old?

really i'm so excited for everyone that is losing and seeing their goal so close! you have earned this success --- celebrate and keep it going! only 5 more weeks until EASTER!!

for anyone else like me, please don't just lurk here i need ya :sad2:

i came across the Curves diet paperwork -- i'm considering following it for a couple weeks. maybe something different?

ohMom...I'll whine with you. I have been sick for over 2 weeks and all I want is comfort food. The gym has been detained due to weather and sickness. I don't think I will even weigh in this week. I need to get refocused again. There are times I can really be right on and times I go over the edge. Just stick to making those good choices and exercising. That is going to be my focus this week.

NikkiBell...congrats on your 4lbs gone forever lose.

tiggerlover...great job on 2.6 out of 6.

I was down 1.2 this week for 1.4/12 for this challenge. I guess I could whine about how last week I gained 2.8 pounds and being on ww and strictly not going over my points, I should be able to lose that in about 3 weeks. It comes off so slowly now. I'm 43, and would kill for the days when I first did WW. I was about 26, and lost 9 pounds the first week, and continued to lose almost every week. I never got to goal, but was down to about 145 (from 181) and I still felt fat at that. It's been 18 months this time, and I've lost 32 pounds, which I lost in a few months back then. Oh well. What I really feel like whining about today is my five year old who's talking back, and not listening, but I think there's another board for that.

Ohmom, it's soooo hard when it won't come off, but don't give up. Have you tried mixing up what you eat regularly? Instead of sandwiches for lunch, have soup, or salad. I'm sure you've tried everything. I recently heard about the reverse diet- big dinner type meal for breakfast, lunch, and then breakfast for dinner. I think it just gives you more calories in the morning, and less in the evening, which can help by the mere fact you're more active and burning them off during the day. I've thought about doing the special K thing, and having cereal at 2 meals and just eating one big meal. Most days for lunch I have the Wasa whole grain crisp breads-3 of them- with 3 laughin cow light cheese wedges with salsa on top. It's pretty low cal, and I get the crunch from the bread, so I don't crave chips. The other thing I've been eating for breakfast most mornings is 1/2 cup egg beaters with 2 pieces of light toast with salsa for a sandwich. I'm hooked on salsa lately. Newmans' own black bean and corn is my favorite and his pineapple is pretty good too.
Hang tough girl. :cheer2: You can do it. :cool1: We're right here with ya. :grouphug:

Believe- Hope you are feeling better soon. It's so hard to be good when you feel lousy. And no gym for you must be tough. I wish I had some of your exercise motivation. Hang in there. :flower3:

Congratulations Nikkibell and Tiggerlover on your losses!!!! You're inspiring us all.

Thanks for the update Molli! And :grouphug: to you. It is so frustrating when the scale isn't cooperating. I know this may sound crazy, but sometimes it works for me, I take a day and indulge in the foods that I normally stay away from, I usually do it for breakfast, lunch and dinner to get it out of my system and then the next day I get back on program and sometimes that is what it takes to jumpstart my loss. Also, like mikamah said, mix things up, introduce different foods that you haven't been eating, try a different kind of exercise, maybe jump rope or something totally different than what you currently do. Just some thoughts on things that have helped me in the past. I hope you can find your groove.

*NikkiBell*...congrats on losing 4 pounds, that is fantastic!!!!

Amanda, sorry you have been under the weather, I sure hope you are on the road to recovery and losing those comfort food cravings!

Mik, congrats again, I hope you read my reply over on the WW thread.

denecarter, all I can say is wow! You have been posting some awesome loses, you are an inspiration! Keep up the great work! :cheer2:

I lost 4.5 this week! I am so glad!!!! Now I am at 9/20! I hope I can hit the 20!!!! Thanks everyone for your motivation and support:grouphug:

Despite a horrible day yesterday, I'm still down 1 pound this week, putting me at 1/9 for the challenge.

I worked so hard this week - watched by diet carefully, avoided sweets at work and worked out at least 2 hours a day - and all I lost was .2lbs - for a total of 14.4/20.

Even though it was a loss - it was still a little discouraging. Maybe next week! Everyone is doing so well - keep it up!

Wow, Kamy, what an awesome loss for the week!!!! You are well on your way to 20 pounds gone for this challenge. Keep on with what you are doing and you will be there before you know it.

April, a pound loss is also great, especially after a horrible day.

Miandrea, I know a small loss is disappointing when you have followed things to a "T", so I can understand your frustration. Maybe all of the working out was building muscle or you were not refueling your body enough after two hours of excercise a day. I know it doesn't silly, but at WW they tell us to eat what we are a lot and we will see better results than if we don't, especially if we are working out.

happy wednesday everyone! :flower3: updated post #1 here

ok, maybe you noticed?? I LEFT the land of GREEN!!!!!! not quite to orangedom yet; but finally today my WI was my original weight at the start of this challenge! who would've thought it would take me 7 weeks!!! oh man, the time wasted!! but, looking only at the postives -- I started the Curves calorie-senstive plan on Monday. it almost goes against all i preach about, and i still hear Oprah whispering in my ear "Diets don't work" but i just felt i needed something to get me going in the right direction! I don't do well on 'diets' where your food for the day is planned out, but whatever I was doing wasn't working either. I have set my goal to stay on the Phase one of this plan until March 9th -- i can only look so far ahead :rolleyes1

Mom is following the plan with me too so we are helping each other via phone

believe -- how are you feeling? here's some PD :tink: to get well and dig deep within yourself to find that postive spirit that has brought you to the success you have reached on your healthy journey. it's there and i KNOW you can find it again!

mikamah -- it just isn't fair is it! thank you for the encouragment, it is helping me stay focused this week  i do think shaking things up is a great idea, both in food and workout patterns. thank you for the reminder! this plan is much higher in protein than i had been routinely eating and i know that's better for building muscle and boosting my metabolism. i actually prefer my biggest meal for lunch when i can swing it, schedule wise. i admire you for sticking to the plan even when the results aren't immediate -- i bet that Whoosh Fairy is around the corner for you!!

dene -- :rockband: nothing more to say!! :rockband:

debbie -- oh man i LOVE that you take a day to get those cravings out of your system! you bring me hope! i know i can't say "I'll never eat this or that again" which is why i do terrible with restrictive diets. but you are a true blue WISH success and you allow that in your lifestyle, just brings tears of joy and hope to my eyes :lovestruc thank you for sharing that!

kamy!! -- yea for you!! :yay: :yay:

april -- cyber high five for turning ORANGE!!

andrea -- i bet that Whoosh Fairy is stopping by your house after mikamah's!:drive: :crazy2: how are your clothes fitting? maybe you are building muscle and burning fat! keep the positive attitude -- you will SUCCEED! i hear debbie though, are you sure you are eating enough? too little will lead to a starvation response which is totally rude and counterproductive our of bodies. one of the trainers at work once told me to be sure to eat some protein within 45 mins of working out, maybe that would help keep your metabolism fired up? two hours a day! that's ALOT! let us know if you want input -- you probably have your plan and i don't mean to step on your toes :tiptoe:

well i have LOTS to accomplish today while DDs are at school. tonight is my workout class so i'm enjoying a morning to do some chores and errands.

seems like we are missing some folks around here? let's PM them and bring them back!

Hi everyone - I'm down 1.8 - Woo hoo! That makes me 4.2/10 so far! I'm moving in the right direction and it feels good. I broke the 145 barrier. I need to lose 3.8 more pounds to get back to where I was at christmas. It's such a shame I couldn't have maintaned that - So I totally know where your coming from Molli - It feels like wasted time!!

Molli - Your post today sounded better! The last one sounded like you were really feeling down! Hang in there!! At least your even with what you started the challenge with. It's only downhill from here. Hopefully the new diet will get your body moving in the right direction. I also agree with someone else that your body may need a big "splurge" day every once in a while. Maybe not hog wild, but at least 1 or 2 days a week I have a 30-40 point day. I usually see the scale move after one of those days if I have also include a few lower 22 point days. And I never go below 22. Were you using all your flex points? I know your exercising a lot right now. Make sure you use your AP and flex points! They really help me. Also were you Journaling consistantly everyday? That makes a huge difference!

Miandrea - Hang in there! I know it's frustrating! At least it's in the right direction. Make sure your eating enough for your exercising or you can actually hold on to the weight instead of losing it.

AprilN - Congrats on the 1 pound!

Kamy - Way to go - That's awesome!

DeneCarter - WoW! Way to go!:scared1:

mikamah - Way to go on your loss! Hang in there, the gain from last week will disappear!

Believe - Hang in there, I hope you get better soon!

NikkiBell - Woo hoo!!! Way to go!

Hi guys. Just coming by for some inspiration to help me get over this pms. I bought a bag of those little cadbury eggs, and just ate several servings, and thought "What am I doing????!!!!" so I threw the rest in the trash and am not going to do that again. I guess I thought I'd be able to ration them out by points, but didn't work. I had no more flex points left for the week. Back on track now and must stay there. On a positive note, I did get out to the park with my son and do some sledding the past 2 nights, which is more exercise than I've been getting. I can't wait for next weekend when we turn the clocks ahead. I'll then have no excuse to get out and exercise.

Ohmom-Congrats on leaving Greenland!!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing your name in big ORANGE letters next week!!!! Good luck with the Curves plan. Maybe that will be just the thing to get your scale moving downward.

Melanie- Congrats on the great loss!!! It's such a great feeling to break another barrier. Once I get below a 5, like now 195, I feel like that last decade (200) is gone forever. Congrats.

Kamgen- Whoo hoo!! What an awesome loss!!

Denecarter- You are my idol. You are doing phenomenal. I look at your exercise numbers, and am very impressed. Keep up the inspirational work!!!

April- congratulations on your loss this week. Way to go!!!

Miandria- hang in there. How ever small, it's still a loss, and that's bringing you closer to goal!!

Tiggerlover- That sounds like a great idea to have one whole day of eating those forbidden foods to get it out of your system. Maybe that would work for me instead of going eating too 5-10 extra points a day like I'm doing this week.

Good luck everyone.

Well, I haven't checked in for awhile because February was a terrible month all around. I am down another pound. That puts me at 3/15. I don't think I'll make the fifteen, but I'll keep pushing!
Thanks--and now that March has started, I'm hoping to be around more!
Jana

I lost zero this week but TOM will arrive tommorow so next week should be a bit better. Congrats everyone :thumbsup2 .

This brings my total to 5.5 of 10. I had thought it was more but i remeber i gained a couple lbs somewhere after starting this challenge. But if i keep it up at this rate I'll make my goal of 10 by Easter:banana:

I have to admit I only focus a little on calories and more on my exercising. I've only dropped maybe 200 calories per day but I tried more to focus on what I was eating instead of how much of it.

My work days at Target are early starting at 6am(whoever said they can't wait for the clocks to go ahead is out of their mind. I can wait). So with my morning break being anywhere between 8-9am depending on how busy I am I need a lift preferably a sweet 1. Up until a few months ago I was getting that hit with Danish from our Startbucks or poptarts from the vending machine or even cupcakes:scared1:

Now when i go on break I head for the yogurt case and grab a strawberry yogurt. Not quite as sweet as the other stuff but easier on the wallet somewhere around half the calories of my old snacks. And now for after work I've been trying out different LUNA protien bars instead of the candy bars I used to get. Not so much less in calories maybe but hopefully better for my system. Though Friday is an off day for me. During work I stick with yogurt but after i get whatever i want. And I'm thinking its time to hit the cadbury creme eggs cause i love those things. But i'll just be buying 1 or 2. NOT a whole bag.

Congrats to everybody who's lost this week:cheer2:

Molli: welcome to the land of 0. Plenty of time to reach your goal b4 Easter. Good luck with the Curves plan.

I've been MIA as well, sorry ladies, I've been swamped at home lately.

I'm still holding my 1.6 loss, it's been up and down but it's been sodium related, but I'm still down as of today.

I've been starting to get ready for our apartment makeover. I just did a marathon two days of power shopping to get everything ordered and/or picked up. I'll be starting on my master bathroom as soon as I finish posting.

My MIL is coming on the 13th (from the UK) and I'm hoping to have the face lift of our apartment done by the time she gets here. I'm excited, I can't wait for everything to get here so I can get it all together and get it nice and sparkly.

I made it to the gym once this week but then we got DH's bonus and the bill paying and shopping started. I've been bad, I've been so busy I've barely had time to eat, I think that's the only thing helping me these days.

I'd better get a move on with this bathroom, I want to have it done before 5, it shouldn't take that long, DD got a new Fisher Price Little People set so I may actually be able to get it done without help. :)

I worked so hard this week - watched by diet carefully, avoided sweets at work and worked out at least 2 hours a day - and all I lost was .2lbs - for a total of 14.4/20.

Miandrea, try not to be too discouraged. I bet next week all your hard work is going to show on the scale! Just don't do what I do and sabotage yourself this week thinking it doesn't matter. You are doing great!

And I'm so proud to announce and shout it out to all my Dis friends.... I lost 1.6 lbs this week so I'm finally out of the green and can change my challenge thread amount to 1/12 YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH:cool1:

OhMom, I see you aren't in the green anymore as well! Congratulations!!! Glad we could cross over together!

Good luck everyone! Thanks for being such great support. Everytime I haven't exercised for the day I think of you all and how I need to go exercise so I can post that I did!
