OK, it's confession time for me. I didn't post in the Week 4 thread because when I weighed in at WW last Thursday, I'm embarrassed to admit I was up 1.2 lbs. so instead of 3.8 I'm at 2.6 lbs lost out of my goal of 15.

Hopefully I'll do better this Thursday, but based on the day I'm having, I'll show another gain. My daughter baked my favorite - peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses in the middle. I've eaten about six of them! I shudder to think how many points they are.

Wed., 2/14 is my wedding anniversary and DH have a reservation at a very nice restaurant to celebrate. I don't know how I'm going to survive this week!
 
((BARB)) i understand, i have't left the country of GREEN since this challenge started! i had a depressing moment too when i started week 5 thread and the realization hit me that it's been 5 weeks and yet i'm still up from my start weight, which was up from a long weekend at WDW! just take it day by day and i'm glad you posted b/c we are here for you!!

now, continue counting -- don't use any FP for the remainder of your week and when your week rolls over allow yourself to face it refreshed and anew :flower3: until then just keep making good choices, keeping your portions low when you face those special meals or treats, and keep a positive attitude! all is not lost -- WE CAN DO THIS!!

well i mostly made it through the weekend, i was about 350 calories over on Saturday, but with my long walk i wasn't fretting. yesterday I was OP but had a late dinner so i have to plug that into my journal. i may have been a little over too -- but i tell you what it made me realize that this weekend I stayed pretty much on track and still went over, so the weekends I wasn't journaling i'm sure i was WAY over. hence the tire around my middle :laughing:

today i'm going to the FC for a strength workout, we are to be hit with snow overnight so i may be homebound for a couple days :eek:

EXERCISE CHALLENGE: if you dare to take the challenge for this week --- I challenge you to increase your exercise time by 10 - 20%. now i don't want to make this seem out of reach, at first i had just 20%, but i don't want anyone shying away either. I trust you to be the judge on how you bump it up -- intensity or time -- you KNOW what you need to do. and if you are truly unsure ask and we'll help you out. If you haven't been exercising at all than 10 - 20 % would just mean 10 - 20 mins a day; 4-5 times a week. We all know that for weight loss we MUST exercise 4 - 5 times a week, right?!? challenge yourself -- YOU ARE WORTH IT!!

As far as weighing in, I'm down .6 so that makes my total 6.8 lost for me. Man, I'm eating great and all that, but the weight isn't melting off at all for me. Oh well, keep trucking right??? :thumbsup2
 
Denecarter - what a great loss! What is your secret??? I am tying hard but those numbers are fantastic!

Dene, you're doing amazingly well. What on earth are you doing?! Please share!

I managed to shave about 2 1/2 minutes from my last mile running time. I ran a mile in 18:23 (I know people walk that faster than I run but I'm getting there.)

I'll weigh on Wednesday.

We're expecting nasty weather too so who knows what will happen tomorrow and Wednesday. If the gym is closed I'll just walk over to the apartment complex gym and bring the stroller and DD can watch tv in there while I walk.

She scared me to death today, she was at her preschool class, they walk her two rooms over to kid care while I'm at the gym. I just happened to be in the hallway down from the kid care area, and here comes my DD (2 1/2) around the corner by herself. She had escaped and no one knew she was gone. Freaked me out. She's fine but man, I wonder how long it would have taken for someone to notice she was missing. Or what could have happened to her in that time. It just freaks me out.
 
Hi all.

Won't weigh in till Thursday but I wanted to say hi. Congrats to all the Losers. With any luck I'll be back there myself this week, but I'm not counting on it as AF will be due this weekend. In the meantime howere I'm upping my water intake with a 32oz travel mug when i get home in the evenings. Its impossible for me to drink a lot during the work day as i just don't have the type of job that allows it. And I'm sitting on my stability ball while I DIS instead of the office chair which isn't that comfy anyway.

As for the exercise challenge. If work counts i will be exercising every 6 out of 7 days. My job at Target is very physical. I'm forever walking and even climbing ladders during my work day. I am hopnig to add a third day to vdeo routine though it wouldn't be first thing in the morning unless i want to get up at 4am:scared:

Good luck to everybody this week. And i wouldn't mind if somebody sent me snow to go with this cold. It gets so boring with cold weather and nothing to show for it.
 
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! I lost 3.5 this week! It has been slow so I am pleased to see this.....

wow we are having a FABULOUS week!! :woohoo: :woohoo: cyber high five to all our LOSERS this week!!

tomorrow is my WI day, i slipped up a little last night and had a couple cookies and some brownie crumbs, but the bounty of the baking is safely tucked in the freezer so that's it. we've been doing some baking for a church event. anyhooo-----

yesterday i did an extra 10 mins of cardio, normally on a weight day I do 20 mins but i did 30 :yay: i also bumped up my weight for one particular set of exercises and i can feel it in my chest muscles today. wish that would perk the girls up, but i can only dream. :rolleyes1

snow day here, we are in the heart of that major system over ohio -- not sure how much yet, but around 4" already. i know there are folks with TONS of snow, like 100" but arond here 12+" is alot for us :cold:

well - as Molli said - OH is snowy today - we are about 65 mi west and a bit south of her, but enough snow for DH to say - stay home - well okay :goodvibes My office NEVER closes (County Engineer's office who maintains the roads) the C E, himself, says - that would "look bad" if our office closed, therefore - allowed to call and use vac time but not a government freebie day for me for weather!

I am happy to report that I got 5 mi of tming this AM and NOT eating any of the cookies that DH is making today - NOPE - not one - cuz tomorrow is my WI day and I want to be a LOSER, too!! My water and snacks are out on the counter and so NO REASON to even open one cupboard door to be looking for "grazing" material:rolleyes1

Just finished some (yum) homemade veggie soup and soon ready to get moving again - on my "to-do" list - I am making progress - somehow I believe I am working much harder than I would be if I were at work........

I am IN the challenge - normally would not be tming 5mi midweek - so guess I am on target for increasing my exercise!

Keep up the good work and sure hope I can be a part of that LOSING group tomorrow!!

I have totally messed up the last 2 days...UGH! I see a gain coming my way. I can't weigh in tonight since I won't be going to the gym due to weather. :( I plan on working out tomorrow, weather permitting.
 
Congratulations to everyone here!!! There's some awesome losing going on, and all of you who are excercising are sooooo inspiring to me.

I am down 1 pound this week, for 3/12. Slow and steady is better than my ups and downs of months past. I've been pretty good staying on track, and journalling, but this weeks exercise challenge is just what I need. I'm in the no regular exercise club. I think I'll be getting some shovelling exercise tomorrow, and I told my son that we'd go swimming this weekend. Anything for me will be a good start. And I know it can boost my weight loss. It's hard to find the time. I'm definitely a fair weather exerciser. Last summer and fall, I took a 30-45 min walk most everyday after work before I picked up my son, and it always put me in a great frame of mind, and I always ate healthier the days I walked.

I have been scrapbooking my disney trip, and am hooked, which is a great thing, since you can't eat and get crumbs or dirty fingerprints on your pictures and things. That has helped with my evening snacking.

Congratulations everyone! This group is so amazing and inspiring! I lost another .5 this week for 6.5/12. DH is taking me to Disneyworld next month for a long weekend. He wants to go out for a fancy dinner, so I'm really trying hard to fit into my little black dress that right now makes me look like I'm carrying a basketball under it. This week I dropped alcohol from my diet. It's killing me, I love red wine. :love: I also started back on my weight lifting routine. :thumbsup2

Finally saw another significant loss ... down 3 lbs this week for a total of 8/15.

:yay:

Over halfway there; trying not to think about it so I won't get discouraged if it doesn't happen, but maybe I'll even surpass my goal!
 
Haven't posted lately because I have not been losing at all. It's very discouraging. Congrats to you all on your loses this week :thumbsup2 . Off to exercise now.

DH actually has a snow day today. so we are all tucked in and i was debating on whether this was an exercise day off or not? then i read our postings and remembered our challenge! i have some sore muscles and did cardio yesterday so i think i'm going to pop in a yoga DVD later this morning. but -- good news is the 2 lbs i've been yo-yoing during our 5 weeks together i have relost so i'm looking ahead positively to BREAK through this cycle and finally be able to post a true LOSS next week and enter the land of orange !!

believe -- :hug: hang in there -- you had some good mojo just a few days ago, it's in you still ---

mikamah -- great job on another loss!! you are right steady losing will be sooo much more fun that the :yo-yo: that i'm doing! today i hope to finish out my DCL scrapbook - i'm a big scrapper too! and you are right, it's hard to snack and scrap!


setzkitten -- cyber high five on a loss this week!! i too have a vacation and vacation clothes that are motivating me!! we can do it!

kaysmommie -- :hug: i'm still trying to get into a loss for this challenge so please don't let that discourage you from posting!! this group has been very inspiring for me when i'm frustrated and losing hope. we have to overcome that and remember that our mindset and attitude play a role in our weight loss journey. we must believe in ourselves and our capability in order to see it happen! you can do it!! we'll do it together!! :yay:
 
Congratulations everyone! I'm happy to report I lost 1.2 this week. So now I've lost almost all of my vacation weight. Only .8 to go!!

My new total - +.6/12 Maybe next week I won't be green!

Believe and kaysmommie, I felt so ashamed two weeks ago to have to post for a second time a gain. I hope it doesn't discourage you too much. Sometimes I feel frustrated because I feel like I am doing everything I should. How come I'm not losing or it is so slow. But I look forward to reading here about everyone's success. And even those of us who aren't successful sometimes. Because then I don't feel like I'm the only person who isn't losing. Keep up the good work! You can do it!
