My son is 12. I am not sure who he thinks leaves his Easter Basket. Still not sure if he believes in Santa or the Easter bunny either.

We do not do the store bought baskets just because they are cheap and things that break easy or he wouldn't play with when he was little.

We are going to WDW this summer.

What are some ideas of things that I can put in his basket?
*I will get him a new ipod charger as his has about it.
*probably the m&m dispensers/mentos for him to save change for the penny presses.

In addition to the usual sweets, I will sometimes include one other item like a toy, book, DVD or T-shirt. This year I bought some trading card sets (sports and Pokemon). Other ideas include smaller Lego or Nerf products.

Does he need a new bathing suit? Towel? Other pool stuff?

One year when we had a disney trip planned for after Easter we all got matching Mickey shirts. What about an iTunes gift card sone can load up with games/movies/whatever before your trip. Or a disney gift card for when you are there.

We always put a DVD in each basket every year, and a favorite candy of each child, a chocolate rabbit and half a bag of something like hershey's kisses or reeses cups. My kids still got baskets until last year when I didn't have time to do one (they were 20 and 18).

We did Disney baskets last year for our trip that was a couple weeks away...We did the penny/quarter containers, new cinch sacks to carry their stuff, autograph books and pens, a new Disney t-shirt to weart there and I had some gift certificates made here on the Dis for special things in the parks - make your own light saber, etc. All things I would have got them anyways for the upcoming trip.

DD is the same age. She has officially advanced to Bunny helper, but she still gets a basket (sometimes, I do, too). Our bunny usually does Spring stuff - shoes, swimsuits, etc. She will be getting an external backup charger for her phone for sure and maybe Disney and/or Universal gift cards. A purse is an option for her, too, since she has reach purse age since her last trip - maybe a wallet for your DS if he normally doesn't carry one?

I'll be following this thread closely.... We will be on a trip to AZ for Easter, so I'll need to get creative with what we can hide in our suitcases during the flight.

I would agree with giftcards or certificates/coupons for things that you will do/purchase for him at WDW. Candy, itunes GC, - all good ideas

Lego mini figs
Nerf ammo
Cool mechanical pencils or pens
Swim goggles
Beef jerky
small iTunes gift card
small accessories for any activities he does
batteries

My dses are getting Axe sets (bodywash, shampoo and deodorant) in a travel toiletry bag. I'll probably give them an itunes or microsoft card too and of course some candy.

Our girls are 13 and 10. Their Easter baskets will include a new spring shorts/shirt outfit, a new swimsuit, gel pens, journal, mini M&M dispenser, flavored Chapstick, jelly beans, marshmallow bunnies, peeps, target gift card, summer socks, hand sanitizer. We are taking the train to Chicago a few days later, so many of these items will come along on the trip.

You could do sunglasses and a spritzer bottle.

My kid is 8. Luckily she never thought the Easter bunny was real. Or the tooth fairy, cupid or any of that. Santa is real tho, I mean an imaginary person couldn't leave all that stuff right? :)

To go with the trip theme, I like Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom cards. My DS9 loves playing the game every time we go and he's too cheap to buy the booster packs. But he sure loves the ultra rare lightning card that comes in there so it's a fun surprise in baskets and stockings.

An extra charger for whatever electronics he uses.
A Tervis cup with a motif he likes (sports team, TV show, etc...)
Old fashioned brain teaser type games (15 puzzle, Rubik's cube, etc) to enjoy while traveling.
Foxtail (ball game). My boys love this and it gets them outside--just stay away from trees!

Pins to trade, Kingdom Keepers books, and slip on sandals/flip flops to wear to the pool.
We definitely all wear sunglasses in FL. The sun is so much brighter there than here.

My DS9's basket will have a couple of Nike/Jordan shorts & Tshirts, a Disney Infinity character & power discs, frisbee, an outdoor game, swimming goggles, a hollow chocolate bunny, a very minimal amount of other candy/gum, a couple of mini figures, spin toothbrush, and a Cadbury clucking bunny.

I'm curious - I never realised Easter baskets were that elaborate (I just do an Easter Egg hunt of some kind for my kids with some candy). What do people typically spend on their Easter baskets? From the description of things here, it sounds like $50-$75. I always thought it was something like $10-20 but obviously I have no clue lol!

I spend around $100, but from the beginning, I didn't want to give a ton of candy like my Bunny did. The basket contains mostly filler items that I probably would have bought anyway (bathing suit, flip flops), with maybe a special treat or two.

My son loved the little tiny nerf gun I put in his one year. Turns out the cats love to chase those nerf darts. He is 19 and still plays with the cats using that nerf gun when he's home from college.

I usually do candy, one small item like the nerf gun or a dvd and a gift card to whatever they are interested in at the time. One year I gave both kids several cans of that silly string stuff. Oh did I regret that! It didn't stick to anything but still had to be cleaned up. Ugh.

My kids are younger than your son (4 1/2 and 8 months). However, we are going to WDW next month. My girls are getting in their Easter baskets: swim suits, cover-ups, crocs, a few new summer outfits, trading pins, and sunglasses. The older one is also getting some activity books to take on the plane. The older one will get some candy (only a little...probably a chocolate bunny and some jelly beans) and a DVD (Big Hero 6). The little one will get puffs and mums, a stuffed bunny, and a book.

We probably spend about 75-100 on each kid, but this is mostly stuff I would buy anyway for summer except for the candy and a few other treats. The girls needed new clothes, crocs and swimsuits so I might as well put them in the basket.
