DD11's (almost 12) basket this year has:
- A makeup bag set. I got this at the Target Xmas 70% off sale. It's a bigger bag for travel + a smaller purse size bag. Takes up a whole lot of room in the basket - perfect!

- Some basic makeup. I'm just starting to let her wear some. I picked up a couple of ELF eyeshadow sets at the Target Xmas sale, and added a few other basic items like blush, brushes and an eyelash curler. I also got a bunch of free samples from Everyday Minerals for base, and I'll add an IOU for a full-size bottle once we figure out which shade matches her best. I'll go cheap on stuff like eyeshadow and blusher for her until she gets things figured out, but I want to start her off with a good base that matches her skin tone properly and is easy to apply properly.
- A funky mirror that has a bendy stem that you can wrap around things. Should be good for her locker at school. Also got this at the Target Xmas 70% off sale - do you see a theme developing??

- A couple of small bottles of bubble bath from the Target Dollar spot
- A couple of smalls "mind bender" wood puzzle things. I think I actually got these at the Target Xmas 75% off sale two years ago...
- A bunch of packs of gum that I've been picking up as there are good sales/coupons. DD is a gum addict.
- A couple of packs of notecards from the Target Dollar spot. She's actually a great letter writer. Much bettter than me!
- A couple of big cookies and creme chocolate bars. 70% off - who cares if they have nutcrackers on the packaging?!
As you can tell, I like to shop for Easter baskets during the after Christmas sales. It saves me a TON. I got all of the above for less than $30. That number is still outrageous in my mind for an Easter basket, but it should get her off to a good start on the makeup road. Boo hoo - my baby is growing up!
All I need to add is a Chocolate bunny, and the basket will be set. And that's going to have to be a small one because the basket is already stuffed. I will put some other candy into eggs. One or two eggs may get a dollar or so, but I don't go crazy on the eggs anymore like I used to. I do have a couple of Hexbugs that will probably make it into the eggs too. (yup, Target Xmas 70% off sale! They were in ornaments - I'll just take them out)
ETA: Sorry, missed the post about your basket being for DH. Guess none of the above applies!! LOL
