Making our very first trip to Hilton Head over the Easter holiday and have gotten many good suggestions of restaurants in the area.

Now, I'm wondering if the resort does anything cool like an egg hunt for the kids? Anyone been there for Easter before?

I would think there will be some activities going on. I would say that one thing you should definately try to do is the trip to Pinkney Island (sp) National Park to see the wildlife. There are a lot of migratory birds that use the Islands as a stop off point to refuel and rest. Apparantly Spring and Fall are the best times of year for wildlife. These programs should get quite busy at this time of year so I'd strongly recommend booking.

Laura,

This will be our 4th Easter at HH. They have usually have several Easter-related activities leading up to the big day. One highlight is Easter egg dying on Saturday afternoon (make ressies--space is limited). There is an egg hunt on Easter morning (9 am?). Kids are broken into groups by age and taken to different sections of the resort to hunt eggs with other kids the same age. The eggs are plastic and one in in each area is gold (I think). The kid who finds the "special" egg usually gets a giant Easter basket or a big stuffed animal. Everyone else trades in their plastic eggs for a small (but nice) assortment of candy. The Easter bunny has visited in past years, as has the resort mascot "Shadow" the Golden Retriever.

There is always a lot going on during holidays at HH. We love it there, no matter what time of year. It's our favorite DVC resort!

Happy travels,

Thank you SweetP!

I couldn't believe that no one from this board had ever been at HH at Easter time before!

Thanks for your response and I'm looking forward to the trip even more now! Can I call the resort a few weeks ahead and get their schedule or is there another way to get my hands on that?

I believe DVC-HH prints the activities schedule for the coming week on Friday about noon. If you call the resort on Friday afternoon and ask someone in recreation they may agree to fax you a copy if they're not too busy with guests.

How old are your children? I have a 9 yo DD.

Happy planning,

My girls are 7 and 3. I think they are going to love HH. Haven't been to the ocean since the oldest was 3 1/2 and the youngest was 9 months, so they are going to get a kick out of it I'm sure.

I'm so excited to check out the resort and was hoping they had some neat things for the girls. I will make sure to check on the egg hunt for Sunday. We will be on the road starting thursday night of that week so I wouldn't be able to get a hold of the schedule until we arrive on Saturday (the day before Easter). If you have any other neat tidbits I would love to hear them.

Thanks SweetP!

Laura
